The American Defense Department presented the results of its investigation of the targeted bombing of civilians by its forces in the town of al-Bāġūz in Northeastern Syria and says that this targeted bombing was executed “in accordance to the rules of engagement”.

On Wednesday the United States of America expressed that the areal strikes carried out against the town of al-Bāġūz in Northeastern Syria in 2019, which caused the death of so dozens of civilians “is not in violation of the laws of war”.

This came in an investigation under the auspices of the Commander of the American Land Forces General Michel Garrett about the civilian losses following the airstrike, which was carried out by the United States under the pretext of supporting “Qasad”.

Garrett claimed in the report that the attack was carried out “in accordance with the rules of engagement”, claiming that “there is no violation of the laws of war”.

Previously last year the American Defense Secretary appointed General Michael Garrett to hold an overview of the attack that happened in 2019 in Syria, which caused the death of dozens of civilians after the “Coalition” bombed the town of al-Bāġūz with the internationally banned white phosphorus.

The “New York Times Magazine” mentioned in 2021 that the American army carried out two areal attacks against Syria in 2019, which caused the murder of around 64 women and children.

Responding to the questions of the journalists about not holding those responsible accounted for the attacks, which claimed the life of some 80 people official spokesman of the Pentagon John Kirby said “At least, we come before you here and talk about the losses among the civilians”.

Kirby pointed out that the report concluded that “there were no violations of the laws of war, and that there is no need for carrying responsibility for what happened to a person in an individual fashion”.

The Syrian government demanded the opening of an investigation from the U.N. about the crimes of the International Coalition, which is led by Washington. This includes the crime of al-Bāġūz in the countryside of the city of Dayr az-Zūr, where the town was demolished completely in what was described as a war crime. In addition to that, a massacre took place carried out by the warplanes of the illegal Coalition on 18 March 2019.
