أكد وزير الخارجيةِ التركي، مولود جاويش أوغلو، أنَّ بلاده ستقدّم كل أنواع الدعم السياسي إلى دمشق من أجل إخراج الإرهابيين من المنطقة، قائلاً إِنَّ “بلاده أجرت سابقاً محادثاتٍ مع إيران في هذا الصدد”.
وأضاف، في حديث تلفزيوني، أن من حق سوريا أن تزيل تنظيماتِ مثل قوات سوريا الديمقراطية (واي بي جي) وحزب العمال الكردستاني (بي كي كي) من أراضيها، وأشار إلى أنه “ليس من الصواب أن تصف المعارضة المعتدلة بالإرهابية”، على حد تعبيره.
ورأى جاويش أوغلو أنَّ “روسيا والولايات المتحدة لم تفيا بوعودهما بشأن سوريا، وأن موسكو تسعى لدمج قوات سوريا الديمقراطية “قسد” في النظام السوري”.
وكان وزير الخارجية التركي أعلن أنّ “بلاده قد تقوم بإطلاق العملية العسكرية بسوريا في أي لحظة“، وذلك في تصريح لقناة “تي. في. 100” التركية.
يذكر أنّ وزارة الدفاع السورية أعلنت، في بيان، جاهزية الجيش السوري للتصدي لأي “عدوان محتمل من تركيا والتنظيمات التابعة لها، ولا سيما مع تزايد حدة الاستفزازات التي يمارسها النظام التركي على الأراضي السورية” في اليومين الماضيين.
وكان الرئيس التركي، رجب طيب إردوغان، قد أعلن في وقت سابق، أن بلاده تعتزم شنَّ عملية عسكرية داخل الأراضي السورية بهدف “مكافحة الإرهاب”، وإنشاء ما وصفه بـ”المنطقة الآمنة”، مشيراً إلى أنه سيجري اتخاذ قرار بهذا الشأن قريباً.
