The Iraqi Intelligence Service announces the arrest of ‘Abd an-Nāṣir Qardāš, the candidate to follow the leader of the “Dā‘iš” terrorist organization, Abū Bakr al-Baġdādī. The reporter of al-Mayadeen confirms that he was detained days ago.
The Iraqi Intelligence Service announced the arrest of ‘Abd an-Nāṣir Qardāš, the candidate to follow the leader of the “Dā‘iš” terrorist organization, Abū Bakr al-Baġdādī.
According to the Iraqi News Agency, the Intelligence Service announced on Wednesday the detention of ‘Abd an-Nāṣir Qardāš, pointing out that the person was the candidate to succeed al-Baġdādī, while the reporter of al-Mayadeen confirmed that he was arrested days ago. Also that the operation was probably a joint one between the Iraqi forces, Qasad, and the American army.
It should be mentioned that sources of has al-Mayadeen revealed information about the successor of the leader of the “Dā‘iš” organization on 24 April this year. He is Ṭaha ‘Abd ar-Raḥmān ‘Abd Allah Bakr Huwayt, also named as “ ‘Abd Allah Qardāš” and “Ḥağğī ‘Abd Allah”.
Qardāš, born in Tall ‘Afar in Nineveh province in 1976 and gave allegiance to the “al-Qā‘ida” organization between 2004-2005, until he took the responsibility of “legal official” in the organization as the right-hand side of Nineveh province and was arrested by the American army.
He rose in the “legal” and administrative roles and became one of the members of the Advisory Council. After that, he gave allegiance to the “Dā‘iš” organization as one of the members of the Negotiating Council, before becoming the military deputy to al-Baġdādī.
During June 2014 Qardāš lead the negotiations between the “Dā‘iš” and the Turkish government about the staff of Turkish Consulate General in Mosul and personally oversaw their transportation from Mosul to a safe area, from where they headed to Turkey.
It should be remembered that American President Donald Trump announced on 27 October last year the assassination of al-Baġdādī in a military operation targeting him in Northern Syria.

ووفقاً لوكالة الأنباء العراقية، فإن جهاز المخابرات أعلن اليوم الأربعاء، اعتقال عبد الناصر قرداش، مشيرةً إلى أنه الشخص المرشح لخلافة البغدادي، بينما أكد مراسل الميادين أنّه كان معتقلاً منذ أيام، وأنّ عملية اعتقاله من المرجح أن تكون مشتركة بين العراقيين وقوّات قسد والجيش الأميركي
يذكر أنّ مصادر للميادين كانت كشفت يوم 24 نيسان/أبريل الماضي، معلومات حول خليفة زعيم تنظيم “داعش”، وهو طه عبد الرحيم عبد الله بكر خويت، ويكنى بـ”عبد الله قرداش” و”حجي عبد الله
قرداش من مواليد تلعفر في نينوى عام 1976، بايع تنظيم “القاعدة” بين عاميّ 2004 – 2005، حتى تولى منصب “المسؤول الشرعي” للتنظيم في الجانب الأيسر ضمن ولاية نينوى، واعتقل على يد الجيش الأميركي
تدرّج في المناصب “الشرعيّة” والإداريّة، وأصبح أحد أعضاء مجلس الشورى، ومن ثمّ بايع تنظيم “داعش” ليكون أحد أعضاء اللجنة المفوضة، قبل أن يصبح نائباً عسكرياً للبغدادي
خلال حزيران/يونيو 2014، أدار قرداش المفاوضات بين “داعش” والحكومة التركيّة بخصوص موظفي القنصلية التركية في الموصل، وقام بنفسه بنقلهم من مدينة الموصل إلى منطقة آمنة، ومنها توجهوا إلى تركيا
يذكر أنّ الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترامب، كان أعلن يوم 27 تشرين الأوّل/أكتوبر الماضي، اغتيال البغدادي في عمليّة عسكريّة استهدفته شمال سوريا
