The embassy of the Moroccan Kingdom in Algeria prepares to permanently close its doors starting today after the latter cut its diplomatic relations aggressively with Morocco.
Official Moroccan sources said that the kingdom will close its embassy in the Algerian capital today, Friday, after Algeria cut its diplomatic relations with their country for what they called “acts of aggression”.
Moroccan sources said to “France Press” that the embassy will close and the ambassador and all officers will return to Rabat, thus pointing out that “the Moroccan consulate in Algeria, in the capital, in Oran and Sīdī Bil-‘Abbās will remain open”.
Moroccan head of government Sa‘ad ad-Dīn al-‘Utmānī said on Thursday that his country “is looking for a major rapprochement for the Maghreb people in general, and especially between the Moroccan and the Algerian peoples”.
In a debate with the Moroccan “Maghreb Voices” website al-‘Utmānī added that the restoration of the relations with Algeria to its normal form “is destined and necessary”, expressing his upmost regret for Algeria’s latest stance.
He expressed his wish to overcome this decision soon, thus confirming that “the stability of Algeria and its security is part of the stability and security of Morocco. The stability and security of Morocco is part of the stability and security of Algeria”.

قال مصدر رسمي مغربيّ إنّ المملكة ستغلق سفارتها في العاصمة الجزائرية اليوم الجمعة، بعدما قطعت الجزائر العلاقات مع بلاده بسبب ما وصفته “بأعمال عدائية”.
وذكر مصدر مغربيّ لـ “فرانس برس” أن السفارة ستغلق وسيعاد السفير وجميع الموظّفين إلى الرباط، مشيراً إلى أن “القنصليّات المغربيّة في الجزائر والعاصمة وهران وسيدي بلعباس ستبقى مفتوحة”.
وقال رئيس الحكومة المغربية، سعد الدين العثماني، يوم أمس الخميس، إن بلاده “تنظر إلى المصالح العليا للشعوب المغاربية عموماً وللشعبين المغربي والجزائري على وجه الخصوص”.
وفي حوار مع موقع “Maghrebvoices” المغربي، أضاف العثماني أن عودة العلاقات مع الجزائر إلى طبيعتها، “قدرٌ محتوم وضروري”، معرباً عن أسفه البالغ لموقف الجزائر الأخير.
وأعرب عن تمنياته بتجاوز هذا القرار في القريب، مؤكداً أن “استقرار الجزائر وأمنها من استقرار المغرب وأمنه، واستقرار المغرب وأمنه من استقرار الجزائر وأمنها”.
وكان وزير الخارجية الجزائري رمطان لعمامرة، أعلن الإثنين الماضي، أن بلاده “ترفض منطق الأمر الواقع وترفض السياسيات الأحادية للمغرب”، مشدداً على أن الدعاية المغربية “تشن حرباً دنيئة ضد الجزائر”
