The former prince of Ḥā’il [Province], Sa‘ūd ibn ‘Abd al-Muḥsan ibn ‘Abd al-‘Azīz, cousin of King Salmān got a spacious residence in Cyprus and tried even to get its passport according to what was revealed by “OCCRP”, which is specialized to organized crime and corruption around the world.

The step by Sa‘ūd came only months after he was relieved from his post as governor of Ḥā’il Province in April 2017.
Noteworthy that he applied for a Cypriot passport in December 2017, only days after the campaign by the Crown Prince against his cousins and businessmen, and held them as prisoners in Ritz Carlton Hotel in Riyadh.
The site specialized in reporting crime quoted experts saying the timing of the movements of Sa‘ūd to get a foreign citizenship point to his inner worry by his cousin, Muḥammad ibn Salmān.

واللافت أنه قدّم للحصول على الجواز القبرصي، في ديسمبر/ كانون الاول 2017، بعد أيام فقط من حملة ولي العهد على أبناء عمومته ورجال أعمال، وزجهم كسجناء في فندق الريتز كارلتون بالرياض
ونقل الموقع المتخصص بالابلاغ عن الجريمة عن خبراء قولهم، إن توقيت تحرك سعود للحصول على جنسية أجنبية، يشير إلى شعور داخلي بالقلق من ابن عمّه محمد بن سلمان
