Iranian Foreign Minister ‘Abbās ‘Arāqčī confirms moving forward with the dialogue with Oman to determine the future of the administration and the maritime services in the Strait of Hormuz.

Iranian Foreign Minister ‘Abbās ‘Arāqčī held a telephone conversation described as fruitful with Omani Foreign Minister Badr al-Būsa‘īdī, during which it was confirmed that to launch a dialogue between the two sides to outline the future of the administration and the maritime services in the Strait of Hormuz.

‘Arāqčī said that Tehran is determined to move forward with this operation and continued saying: “the future of the administration and the maritime services in the Strait of Hormuz shall be determined through a dialogue with out neighbors”.

The Iranian delegation that had arrived to the Sultanate of Oman on Monday night after a round in Switzerland , where it has discussed with the Omani side the ways to enhance the bilateral relations between Tehran and Muscat. Arrangements has been done about the administration of the Strait of Hormuz anticipating a fundamental dialogue during the meeting that has lasted for two hours.

Iran and Oman, according to a joint statement following a meeting between the Sultan of Oman Haytam ibn Ṭāriq and the Iranian delegation led by Speaker of the Parliament Moḥammad Bāqer Qālībāf on Tuesday have agreed on continuing the discussions about the matter of the Strait of Hormuz by forming a joint committee between the foreign ministers of the two countries with the aim to reach an understanding about the future maritime administration in the Strait, the services concerning it and the costs connected to it in accordance with the international norms.

اتفاق إيراني عُماني بشأن مضيق هرمز: إجراء حوار لتحديد مستقبل الإدارة والخدمات البحرية

وزير الخارجية الإيراني عباس عراقتشي يؤكد التوجه نحو حوار مع عُمان لتحديد مستقبل الإدارة والخدمات الملاحية في مضيق هرمز

أجرى وزير الخارجية الإيراني عباس عراقتشي اتصالاً وصفه بالمثمر مع وزير الخارجية العُماني بدر البوسعيدي، جرى خلاله التأكيد على إطلاق حوار بين الجانبين لتحديد مستقبل الإدارة وخدمات الملاحة البحرية في مضيق هرمز.

وقال عراقتشي إن طهران عازمة على المضي قدماً في هذه العملية، وتابع قائلاً: “مستقبل الإدارة والخدمات البحرية في المضيق سيتم تحديده من خلال الحوار مع جيراننا”

وكان الوفد الإيراني، الذي وصل إلى سلطنة عُمان مساء الاثنين بعد جولة في سويسرا، قد بحث مع الجانب العُماني سبل تعزيز التعاون الثنائي بين طهران ومسقط، فيما شكلت ترتيبات إدارة مضيق هرمز مستقبلاً محوراً أساسياً في اللقاء الذي استمر نحو ساعتين. 

واتفقت إيران وعُمان، في بيان مشترك أعقب لقاءً بين السلطان العماني هيثم بن طارق والوفد الإيراني برئاسة رئيس البرلمان محمد باقر قاليباف الثلاثاء، على مواصلة مناقشة ملف مضيق هرمز عبر تشكيل لجنة مشتركة بين وزارتَي خارجية البلدين، بهدف التوصل إلى تفاهم بشأن إدارة الملاحة في المضيق مستقبلاً، والخدمات المرتبطة بها والتكاليف المتعلقة بها وفق المعايير الدولية
