Syrian President Baššār al-Asad visits the industrial city of ‘Adrā and confirms that the country has the necessary capabilities to create more investment and work
opportunities there.
Syrian President Baššār al-Asad confirms that his country has the real capabilities to overcome the blockade, mitigate its effects and create more investment and work opportunities there.
Al-Asad’s statement came during his visit to the industrial city of ‘Adrā, which has a number of factories, and which according to the statement of the Syrian presidency emerged within the conditions of the war and the blockade and its owners were successful despite the challenges and the difficulties.
The statement pointed out that the al-Asad met with the representatives of the city’s industry and discussed with them how to strengthen the production and the methods of overcoming the sanctions, which the industry in Syria faces.
It should be remembered that this is the second visit by the Syria President to an industrial city within one month, as he visited the industrial city of Ḥasyā in Ḥimṣ countryside this May.
On its own behalf, the Syrian Presidency announced that the visit included a number of installations and factories, which “some of them were founded within the difficult conditions during the war against Syria and play a role in supporting the national industry”.
At the end of March, this year al-Asad confirmed the existence of a war waged from abroad against the Syrian lira, calling for the punishment of the traders exploiting the collapse of the local currency.
In 2014 al-Asad visited one of the refugee shelters in ‘Adrā and confirmed that the war against terrorism will continue and the state is committed to continuing to secure the necessities for the refugees until they can return to their homes.

أكد الرئيس السوري بشار الأسد أن لدى بلاده الإمكانات الحقيقية لتجاوز الحصار وتقليل آثاره، وخلق مزيد من فرص الاستثمار والعمل فيها
تصريح الأسد جاء خلال زيارته مدينة عدرا الصناعية، والتي تضمنت عدداً من المعامل التي نشأت في ظروف الحرب والحصار، ونجح أصحابها على الرغم من التحديات والصعوبات، وفق ما ذكر بيان الرئاسة السورية
وأشار البيان إلى أنّ الأسد التقى بالصناعيين في المدينة، وناقش معهم تعزيز الإنتاج وكيفية تجاوز العقبات التي تواجه الصناعة في سوريا
يذكر أن هذه هي الزيارة الثانية للرئيس السوري إلى مدينة صناعية خلال شهر، حيث زار مدينة حسياء الصناعية في ريف حمص في أيار/ مايو الماضي
وفي حينها، أعلنت الرئاسة السورية أنّ الزيارة شملت عددا من المنشآت والمعامل التي “تأسس بعضها في ظروف صعبة خلال فترة الحرب على سوريا، وكان لها دور في دعم الاقتصاد الوطني
وفي نهاية آذار/مارس الماضي، أكّد الأسد وجود معركة تقاد من الخارج ضد الليرة السورية، داعياً إلى معاقبة التجار المتربحين من انهيار العملة المحلّية
