President of the Ḥamās Movement’s Political Office Ismā‘īl Haniyya says that “the Movement has presented its answer about the ceasefire” in Gaza

On Tuesday dawn President of the Ḥamās Movement’s Political Office Ismā‘īl Haniyya announced that the Movement “is close to reaching the agreement” about a ceasefire between itself and the Israeli Occupation in Gaza.
In a televised message published on the Ḥamās’ account on Telegram Haniyya said that “the Movement has presented its response to the brothers in Qatar and to the mediators. We are close to reaching the ceasefire agreement”.
This came after the Islamic Jihad Movement had announced that Secretary General of the Movement Ziyād an-Nahhāla with the President of the Ḥamās Movement’s Political Office had discussed “the developments of the situation and the negotiations connected to a prisoners deal”.
The Israeli media had mentioned on Monday that “these hours are a turning point, as this time we are much closer to prisoners deal”.
It pointed out that “in Israel, there is an understanding to accept the conditions and the demands of Ḥamās, and the ball is once again at Ḥamās’ field”. Thus explaining that “in case this deal is carried out that would mean a ceasefire for 5 days. That is the beginning and the matter can continue further”.
Earlier the Israeli Broadcasting Organization on Monday had published that “the government of Netanyahu gave a green light to a prisoners deal” with the Palestinian Resistance.
On his behalf, American President Joe Biden said that “he believes that reaching a deal to release some of the prisoners that are held by the Palestinian Resistance in Gaza is very close”, though without providing more details.
Also official spokesman of the National Security Council at the White House John Kirby confirmed on Monday that “Washington believes that reaching a prisoners release deal has become close”.

أعلن رئيس المكتب السياسي لحركة حماس اسماعيل هنية، فجر الثلاثاء، أنّ الحركة “تقترب من التوصّل لاتّفاق” على هدنة بينها وبين الاحتلال الإسرائيلي، في غزة.
وقال هنية، في رسالة مقتضبة نشرها حساب حماس على تطبيق تلغرام، إنّ “الحركة سلّمت ردّها للإخوة في قطر والوسطاء، ونحن نقترب من التوصّل لاتفاق الهدنة”.
وجاء ذلك بعد أن أعلنت حركة الجهاد الإسلامي أنّ الأمين العام للحركة زياد النخالة، بحث مع رئيس المكتب السياسي لحماس “تطورات الأوضاع والمفاوضات المتعلقة بصفقة الأسرى”.
وكانت وسائل إعلام إسرائيلية ذكرت أمس أنّ “هذه ساعات مصيرية، وهذه المرة نحن قريبون أكثر لصفقة أسرى”.
وأشارت إلى أنّه “في إسرائيل، هناك فهم لقبول شروط ومطالب حماس، وحالياً الكرة مجدداً لدى حماس”، موضحة أنه “في حال نفذت الصفقة هذا يعني وقف إطلاق نار لمدة 5 أيام، وهي البداية وممكن أن يستمر الأمر أكثر”.
وسبق أن نشرت هيئة البث الإسرائيلية، أمس الإثنين، أن “حكومة بنيامين نتنياهو أعطت الضوء الأخضر لصفقة أسرى” مع المقاومة الفلسطينية.
من جهته، قال الرئيس الأميركي جو بايدن إنه “يعتقد بأن التوصل إلى اتفاق لإطلاق سراح بعض الأسرى الذين تحتجزهم المقاومة الفلسطينية في غزة بات قريباً”، دون تقديم مزيد من التفاصيل.
