The American President announces lifting the name of Sudan from the list of countries sponsoring terrorism after the latter paid $335 million as compensation for the families of the American terrorism victims. The Israeli media says that normalization between Tel Aviv and Khartoum is getting close.
American President Donald Trump said: “America will lift the name of Sudan from the list of countries sponsoring terrorism after it paid $335 million as compensation for the families of American victims of terrorism”.
Trump added that “after waiting, justice will be served to the American people and Sudan will take a big step forward”.
In the same context head of the Sudanese government said: “We are looking forward to the American President Trump suggesting the Congress the decision to lift the name of Sudan from the list of countries harboring terrorism”.
At the same time, a political correspondent at the Israeli “KAN” channel said: “big progress has been made in the connections between “Israel” and Sudan with American mediation.
She cited high-ranking Israeli officials saying that it is believed that in the upcoming days a formal decree will be published on the contrary establishment of relations between “Israel” and Sudan.
She pointed out that “Trump supposed to announce this step which adds a state to the Abraham Accords containing the Emirates and Bahrain.
She also confirmed that “according to the sources the announcement by Trump might come tomorrow, or on Wednesday, meaning that the matter will not go beyond the next few days. Within this agreement, the United States will take Sudan off the list of countries sponsoring terrorism, a condition Sudan laid down financial allowances to accompany the naturalization with Israel”.
Previously this month the “al-Monitor” said that the United States and the Emirates have exercised pressure for the Sudanese normalization with “Israel”.
The reporter of al-Mayadeen reported on sources last month the offer of Israeli-American-Emirati conditions for Sudan in the matter of normalization. Amongst these was that the normalizing delegation to be accompanied by the Sudanese Justice Minister, who also holds American citizenship and who had worked previously as an advisor in American and Gulf offices.
The 47 conditions included the possibility that Sudan would be the exchange homeland for the Palestinian settlers, American control over the Sudanese Red Sea area via the southern part of Sudan, and in addition to these, the Sudanese authorities would prevent Chinese companies any investment.
Washington also demanded its oversight of the ports and regional waters of Sudan by an anti-terrorist branch and the modification of the Sudanese educational curriculum. In addition to these Sudan would be transformed into a safe heaven for those being banished from the Emirates, “Israel”, or America.
On the other hand the leader of the Party of the Sudanese Nation, aṣ-Ṣādiq al-Mahdī believed that “the normalization with the Israeli occupation is treachery, and has nothing to do with the liberties”.
On his own terms leader in the Sudanese National Congress Party Idrīs Sulaymān confirmed that “the Sudanese people with all its sections refuse the normalization with the Israeli occupation”.
At the same time Sudanese Prime Minister ‘Abd Allah Ḥamdūk confirmed that the matter of normalization for relations by his country with “Israel” seems “complicated, and social agreement”, refusing to connect the normalization process to the matter of lifting the name of Sudan from the list of countries harboring terrorism.
President of the Sudanese Transitional Sovereignty Council ‘Abd al-Fattāḥ al-Burhān has met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Uganda in February this year, as they agreed to start “joint cooperation”, which itself will lead to “the normalization of relations between the two countries” according to what was announced in a statement issued by the office of the Israeli Prime Minister, yet the Sudanese government confirmed that no such step was made and the meeting between the two was not consulted by the council of ministers.
The Israeli media said at that time that the meeting which brought together al-Burhān and Netanyahu took some two hours, explaining that the two discussed “the possibility of allowing the Israeli planes to cross the Sudanese airspace to shorten the time of journeys to South America”.

الرئيس الأميركي يعلن رفع اسم السودان من لائحة الدول الراعية للإرهاب، بعد دفع الأخيرة 335 مليون دولار كتعويضات لأسر ضحايا الإرهاب الأميركيين، والإعلام الإسرائيلي يقول إن التطبيع بين تل أبيب والخرطوم يقترب.
قال الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترامب إن “أميركا سترفع اسم السودان من لائحة الدول الراعية للإرهاب، بعد دفعها 335 مليون دولار كتعويضات لأسر ضحايا الإرهاب الأميركيين”
وأضاف ترامب أنه “بعد انتظار، العدالة ستتحقق للشعب الأميركي، والسودان سيخطو خطوة كبيرة إلى الأمام
في سياق متصل، قال رئيس حكومة السودان: “نتطلع لقيام الرئيس ترامب بإخطار الكونغرس بقرار رفع السودان عن قائمة الدول الراعية للإرهاب
بالتزامن، قالت معلقة الشؤون السياسية في قناة “كان” الإسرائيلية إنه “حصل تقدم كبير في الاتصالات بين “إسرائيل” والسودان بوساطة أميركية
ونقلت عن مسؤولين إسرائيليين كبار قولهم إنه يتوقع في الأيام المقبلة إصدار إعلان رسمي عن تأسيس العلاقات بين “إسرائيل” والسودان
وأشارت إلى أن “ترامب هو من يفترض أن يعلن عن هذه الخطوة التي تقضي بانضمام دولة إضافية إلى اتفاق ابراهام الذي يضم الإمارات والبحرين
كما وأكدت أن “إعلان ترامب، وفقاً لمصادرها، قد يكون غداً أو يوم الأربعاء، أي بمعنى أن الموضوع لن يتعدى الأيام المقبلة، وضمن هذا الاتفاق، الولايات المتحدة ستخرج السودان عن لائحة الدول الداعمة للإرهاب، وهو شرط وضعوه في السودان مع منحة مالية مهمة تمهيداً للتطبيع مع إسرائيل
وفي وقت سابق من هذا الشهر، قالت “المونيتور” إن الولايات المتحدة والإمارات تواصلان الضغط لتطبيع السودان مع “إسرائيل
ونقل مراسل الميادين عن مصادر، الشهر الماضي، طرح شروط إسرائيلية-أميركية-إماراتية على السودان، في موضوع التطبيع، بينها أن يضم الوفد المطبع وزير العدل السوداني الذي يحمل الجنسية الأميركية، والذي سبق أن عمل مستشاراً في مكاتب أميركية وخليجية
وتضمنّت الشروط وعددها 47، إمكانية أن يكون السودان وطناً بديلاً لتوطين الفلسطينيين، والسيطرة الأميركية في البحر الأحمر السوداني عن طريق جنوب السودان، إضافةً إلى منع السلطات السودانية من منح الشركات الصينية أي استثمار
كما طالبت واشنطن بالإشراف على الموانئ والمياه الإقليمية السودانية بذريعة محاربة الإرهاب، وبتعديل المناهج التعليمية السودانية، إضافةً إلى تحويل السودان الى منفى لمن تطرده الإمارات و”إسرائيل” وأميركا
في المقابل، اعتبر زعيم حزب الأمة السوداني الصادق المهدي، أن التطبيع مع الاحتلال الإسرائيلي خيانة، ولا علاقة له بالحريات
من جهته، أكد القيادي في حزب المؤتمر الشعبي السوداني إدريس سليمان، أن “الشعب السوداني بجميع اطيافه يرفض التطبيع مع الاحتلال الإسرائيلي
هذا وأكد رئيس الوزراء السوداني عبد الله حمدوك، أن قضية تطبيع بلاده للعلاقات مع “إسرائيل” تبدو “معقدة، وتحتاج إلى توافق مجتمعي”، رافضاً ربط عملية التطبيع بقضية شطب اسم السودان من قائمة الدول الراعية للإرهاب
والتقى رئيس المجلس السيادي الانتقالي السوداني عبد الفتاح البرهان، برئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي بنيامين نتنياهو في أوغندا، في شباط/ فبراير الماضي، حيث اتفقا على بدء “التعاون المشترك” الذي من شأنه أن يؤدي إلى “تطبيع العلاقات بين البلدين”، بحسب ما أعلن بيان صادر عن ديوان رئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي، إلا أن الحكومة السودانية أكدت أنه لم يتم إخطارها أو التشاور معها في مجلس الوزراء بشأن لقاء الأخيران
وقالت وسائل إعلام إسرائيلية في حينها، إن اللقاء الذي جمع بين البرهان ونتنياهو استمر نحو ساعتين، موضحة أنهما ناقشا “إمكانية السماح للطائرات الإسرائيلية التحليق في الأجواء السودانية وذلك لتقصير مدة الرحلات إلى أميركا الجنوبية
