Commander of the Jerusalem Forces of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Brigadier General Esmā‘īl Qāānī confirms that choosing the head of government is a solely Iraqi matter and praised the position of Iraq towards Iran.

Commander of the Jerusalem Force of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guards Brigadier General  Esmā‘īl Qāānī confirmed that forming the Iraqi government “is the right of the Iraqi people”, underlining that “no one must interfere with this matter”.

In a message of his Qāānī said that “Iraq is greater than anyone could interfere there and especially war criminals who committed crimes against humanity”, confirming that “choosing the Prime Minister is fully reliant of the Iraqi decision”.

Qāānī pointed out that he traveled to Baghdad to express “the gratitude and content of Iran, both by the government and the people for what the Iraqi people full of awareness and power and the officials of the Iraqi state have expressed with their solidarity and support”.

He added that “the Iraqi people are following the Leader of Martyrs Imam Ḥussayn (peace be upon Him) in his resistance and steadfastness, just like Abū l-Faḍl al-‘Abbās in his loyalty”.

Earlier Qāānī in a message addressing the the resistance fighters in Lebanon and the fighters of the Axis of Resistance praised their role combating the enemies, confirming that what they have achieved “will bare fruit in victory”.

This counts to be the first foreign visit of Brigadier General Qāānī that has been revealed since the ceasefire has taken effect lasting for two weeks between Iran, the United States and “Israel” and which had started on the eight of April.

أكد قائد قوة القدس في حرس الثورة الإسلامية الإيرانية العميد إسماعيل قاآني أنّ تشكيل الحكومة العراقية “حقّ الشعب العراقي”، مشدّداً على أنه “يجب ألّا يتدخّل أيّ أحد في هذا الشأن”.

وفي رسالة له، قال قاآني إنّ “العراق أكبر من أن يتدخّل فيه أحد، وخاصة مجرمي الحرب الذين ارتكبوا جرائم ضدّ الإنسانية”، مؤكّداً أنّ “اختيار رئيس الوزراء يعتمد كلياً على القرار العراقي

وأشار قاآني إلى أنه سافر إلى بغداد ليُعرب عن “تقدير وامتنان إيران، حكومةً وشعباً، لما أبداه الشعب العراقي، ذو البصيرة والسلطة، ومسؤولو الدولة العراقية، من تعاطف ودعم”.

وأضاف أنّ “الشعب العراقي يتبع قائد الشهداء الإمام الحسين (عليه السلام) في مقاومته وثباته، وأبا الفضل العباس في ولائه”. 

وفي وقتٍ سابق، وجّه قآاني، رسالة إلى مقاومي لبنان ومجاهدي جبهة المقاومة، أشاد فيها بدورهم في مواجهة الأعداء، مؤكّداً أنّ ما يحقّقونه “سيثمر نصراً”.

وتعتبر هذه أول زيارة خارجية للعميد قاآني يُكشف عنها منذ سريان وقف إطلاق النار الذي يمتد لأسبوعين بين إيران والولايات المتحدة و”إسرائيل” والذي بدأ في الثامن من نيسان/أبريل
