The official spokesman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry Nāṣer Kana‘ānī called upon Egypt and Bahrain to “understand the then regional equations correctly and pay attention to Iran’s role in supporting the region’s stability”.
The official spokesman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry Nāṣer Kana‘ānī on Thursday confirmed that the implications of the joint statement issued in Manama by Bahraini Foreign Minister ‘Abd al-Laṭīf ibn Rāšid az-Ziyānī and his Egyptian colleague Sāmiḥ Šukrī against Iran are “prejudiced and not constructive”.
On Wednesday Bahraini Foreign Minister ‘Abd al-Laṭīf ibn Rāšid az-Ziyānī mentioned that the Bahraini and the Egyptian sides studied what he described as “Iranian interferences” in the internal affairs of the Arab states and both confirmed “that Iran must comply with the policy of good neighborhood”.
In this context the spokesman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry called upon the two states signing the statement to “understand the regional equations correctly and pay attention to Iran’s role in strengthening the stability in the region, while also not pushing forward the policy of Iranophobia, serving the interests of the Zionists”.
Kana‘ānī stressed that “holding on to the nuclear achievements is a legal right for the Islamic Republic”, this also confirms that “Iran’s defense and missile capabilities are built on basis of strategic policy in order to defend the country, and pose no threat to any neighboring country”.
He continued that “Iran has the will and good intention to strengthen its relations with the neighboring states, the Arab and the Islamic countries”. Thus pointing out that “the efforts are multiplied by the Iranian government to achieve this aim, which is yet another example of Tehran’s good intentions”.
Meanwhile, Tehran always confirms that “the policy of good neighbors is one of its priorities”. The Iranian Foreign Ministry on June 27 underlined that “Iran and Egypt are two important states in the history of the region and the Islamic world. All attempts to strengthen the relations between the two countries are within the interest of the region and we welcome any attempt to strengthen the relationship between the two states and develop it”.
This came only hours after Iranian Foreign Minister Ḥosseyn Amīr ‘Abdollahiyān while meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Muṣṭafā al-Kāẓimī confirmed that “strengthening the relations between Tehran and Cairo in the interest of the region and the Islamic world”.

أكّد المتحدث باسم وزارة الخارجية الإيرانية، ناصر كنعاني، اليوم الخميس، أنّ ادّعاءات البيان المشترك، والذي أصدره وزير الخارجية البحريني، عبد اللطيف بن راشد الزياني ونظيره المصري سامح شكري في المنامة ضد إيران، “مغرضة وغير بنّاءة
وأمس الأربعاء، ذكر وزير الخارجية البحريني، عبد اللطيف بن راشد الزياني، أنّ الجانبين البحريني والمصري بحثا فيما وصفاه بـ”التدخلات الإيرانية” في شؤون الدول العربية، وأكدا “ضرورة التزام طهران سياسة حسن الجوار
وفي السياق، دعا المتحدث باسم وزارة الخارجية الإيرانية البلدين الموقّعين على البيان إلى “فهم المعادلات الإقليمية بصورة صحيحة، والانتباه لدور إيران في تعزيز استقرار المنطقة، وعدم الإصرار على مواصلة سياسة “الإيران – فوبيا” وخدمة المصالح الصهيونية”.
وشدّد كنعاني على أنّ “المحافظة على المنجزات النووية حق مشروع للجمهورية الإسلامية”، مؤكّداً أنّ “قدرات إيران الدفاعية والصاروخية مبنية على أساس سياسة استراتيجية من أجل الدفاع عن البلاد، ولا تشكل أي تهديد لدول الجوار”.
وتابع أنّ “لدى إيران إرادة وحسن نيّات لتعزيز علاقاتها بدول الجوار والبلدان العربية والإسلامية”، مشيراً إلى أنّ “الجهود المضاعفة والتي تبذلها الحكومة الإيرانية الراهنة لتحقيق هذا الهدف، دليل واضح آخر يعكس حسن نيّات طهران”.
وبينما تؤكد طهران دائماً أن “سياسة حسن الجوار إحدى أولوياتها”، شدّدت وزارة الخارجية الإيرانية، في 27 حزيران/يونيو الجاري، على أن “إيران ومصر دولتان مهمتان في تاريخ المنطقة والعالم الإسلاميَّين، وكل محاولة لتعزيز العلاقات بين البلدين تصب في مصلحة المنطقة، ونرحّب بأي مساعٍ لتعزيز العلاقة بين البلدين وتطويرها”.
