The head of the Iraqi government expresses his trust that a real breakthrough can be achieved soon with the understanding between Iran and Saudi Arabia. He also confirms that Iraq has a direct interest in achieving this understanding.
Head of the Iraqi Government Muṣṭafā al-Kāẓimī confirmed that “the is an Iraqi interest in achieving the rapprochement between Riyadh and Tehran”, expressing his trust that “there is a real breakthrough in the relations between them”.
Al-Kāẓimī said in an interview with the official “aṣ-Ṣabāḥ” newspaper on Saturday that “Iraq has a direct interest in achieving an understanding between the states of the region and achieving regional stability”.
He added that “Because we have good relations with Saudi Arabia and Iran, and with the rest of the regional parties, we managed to create a positive atmosphere for negotiations on Iraqi soil between the two states, about which many things haven’t been announced yet”.
He pointed out that “the sides at the Irani-Saudi negotiations are dealing with the matter of dialogue with a high level of responsibility and about the requirements of the current situation in the region”.
Al-Kāẓimī believed that “the future of the region relies on starting to look at it as a system of supporting, not contradicting interests”. Thus explaining that “this system cannot head on to economic progress and to following the global progress without sorting out the problems and closing down the crises”.
The head of the Iraqi government confirmed that his government in its foreign policy “hasn’t down any, only what is stated in the Iraqi constitution, which stipulates that Iraq has to protect excellent relations with the countries and has to distance itself from the policy of global camps, and also that it cannot be a source of threat to its neighbors, so to achieve excellent relations with all its neighbors. Also, it has to provide a healthy and positive atmosphere with all”.
Previously the official spokesman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry Sa‘ad Haṭībzāde confirmed that the recent negotiations held in Iraq between Saudi Arabia and Iran were “successful”.
The official spokesman of the Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee Maḥmūd ‘Abbāszāde Meškīnī has already praised the fifth session of the Irani-Saudi negotiations describing them as “very positive and constructive”.
It should be remembered that the fifth session of the Irani-Saudi negotiations was held in the Iraqi capital Baghdad on 23 April this year with the participation of high-ranking Iraqi and Omani officials, who played an important role in organizing joint meetings between the two sides.

الكاظمي: هناك انفراجة حقيقية في العلاقات بين إيران والسعودية

رئيس الحكومة العراقية يعرب عن ثقته بتحقيق انفراجة قريبة في التفاهمات بين إيران والسعودية، ويؤكد أنّ للعراق مصلحة مباشرة في تحقيق هذه التفاهمات.
أكد رئيس الحكومة العراقية، مصطفى الكاظمي، أنّ “هناك مصلحة للعراق في تحقيق التقارب بين الرياض وطهران”، معرباً عن ثقته بأنّ “هناك انفراجة حقيقية في العلاقات بينهما”.
وقال الكاظمي في مقابلة مع صحيفة “الصباح” الرسمية، اليوم السبت، إنّ “للعراق مصلحة مباشرة في تحقيق تفاهمات بين دول المنطقة وتحقيق الاستقرار الإقليمي”.
وأضاف: “لأننا نمتلك علاقات جيدة مع السعودية وإيران، ومع أطراف إقليميين ودوليين متباينين، تمكنّا من إيجاد أجواء حوار إيجابية على أرض العراق بين البلدين، والكثير منها لم يعلن عنه”.
وأشار إلى أنّ “الأفرقاء في المحادثات السعودية الإيرانية يتعاملون مع ملف الحوار بمسؤولية عالية، ومتطلبات الوضع الحالي للمنطقة”.
الكاظمي رأى أنّ “مستقبل المنطقة يعتمد على البدء بالنظر إليها كمنظومة مصالح متلاقية لا متقاطعة”، موضحاً أنّ “هذه المنظومة لايمكنها التفرغ للبناء الاقتصادي واللحاق بالتطوير العالمي من دون حل مشكلاتها وتصفير الأزمات”.
رئيس الحكومة العراقية أكد أنّ حكومته في علاقاتها الخارجية “لم تفعل شيئاً غير ما ورد في الدستور العراقي الذي نصّ على أن يحتفظ العراق بعلاقات متوازنة مع الدول، ويبتعد عن سياسة المحاور الدولية، وأن لا يكون مصدر تهديد لجيرانه ليتمكن من تحقيق علاقات متوازنة مع كل الدول، وخلق أجواء إيجابية صحية مع الجميع”.
وفي وقت سابق، أكد المتحدث باسم الخارجية الإيرانية، سعيد خطيب زاده، أنّ المفاوضات الأخيرة التي عُقدت في العراق بين السعودية وإيران كانت “ناجحة”.
وكان المتحدث باسم لجنة الأمن القومي والسياسة الخارجية في مجلس الشورى الإيراني، محمود عباس زاده مشكيني، قد أشاد بجولة الحوار الإيراني السعودي الخامسة، ووصفها بـ”الإيجابية والبنّاءة جداً”.
يذكر أنّ الجولة الخامسة من المحادثات الإيرانية السعودية انعقدت في العاصمة العراقية بغداد، في الـ 23ـ من نيسان/أبريل الحالي، بمشاركة مسؤولين عراقيين وعمانيين رفيعي المستوى، لعبوا دوراً مهماً في ترتيب اجتماعات مشتركة بين الطرفين
