The Turkish President expresses his hope that the relations between Turkey and Saudi Arabia will develop in the next phase and points out the desire of his country to hold a summit between the Russian and the Ukrainian presidents.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan confirmed some press statements following the ‘Aīd prayers in one of the mosques in Istanbul that “the relations between Ankara and Riyadh will head to a very special level in various fields”.
Erdoğan added that “the relations of his country with the Gulf region witnesses positive developments and the Turkish-Saudi relations will head to a special level”. Thus pointing out that he addressed this question with Saudi Crown Prince Muḥammad ibn Salmān.
He pointed out that the flow of Saudi tourists will contribute to the strengthening of the tourism activities in Turkey, thus expressing his optimism that the tourist season this year will be “very good”.
In another context, the Turkish President said that Ankara will continue with its intent to find a diplomatic solution to the crisis in Ukraine and he intends to hold a meeting between the Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenskiy in Turkey.
He added: “I trust that will be the place for the solution about the steps that will be taken about Eastern Ukraine especially”.
The Turkish President visited Saudi Arabia a few days ago in his first visit to the kingdom since the murder of Saudi journalist Ğamāl Hāšuqğī in 2018 inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, and only two weeks after Turkey closed the court case against the culprits of the crime.
Following his return from Saudi Arabia Erdoğan reported that Ankara and Riyadh agreed to push the economic cooperation forward by activities bringing together the entrepreneurs of both countries.

إردوغان: العلاقات بين أنقرة والرياض سترتقي إلى مستوى متميز جداً

الرئيس التركي يُعرب عن أمله في تقدّم العلاقات بين تركيا والسعودية خلال المرحلة المقبلة، ويشير إلى مساعي بلاده لعقد قمة بين الرئيسين الروسي والأوكراني
أكد الرئيس التركي رجب طيب إردوغان، في تصريحات صحافية عقب أدائه صلاة العيد في أحد مساجد إسطنبول، أنّ “العلاقات بين أنقرة والرياض سترتقي إلى مستوى متميز جداً في مختلف المجالات”.
وأضاف إردوغان أنّ “علاقات بلاده مع منطقة الخليج تشهد تطورات إيجابية، والعلاقات السعودية التركية سترتقي إلى مستوى متميز”، مشيراً إلى أنّه تناول هذه المسألة مع ولي العهد السعودي محمد بن سلمان.
ولفت إلى أنّ توافد السياح السعوديين سيسهم في تعزيز الحركة السياحية في تركيا، مبدياً تفاؤله بأنّ الموسم السياحي هذا العام سيكون “جيداً جداً”.
في سياق آخر، قال الرئيس التركي إنّ أنقرة تواصل مساعيها من أجل إيجاد حل دبلوماسي للأزمة في أوكرانيا، وتسعى لعقد لقاء بين الرئيسين الروسي فلاديمير بوتين والأوكراني فولوديمير زيلينسكي في تركيا.
وأضاف:” واثق أن تركيا ستكون هي مكان الحل بخصوص الخطوات التي ستتخذ حول شرقي أوكرانيا على وجه الخصوص”.
وزار الرئيس التركي السعودية قبل أيام، في أوّل زيارة له إلى المملكة منذ مقتل الصحافي السعودي جمال خاشقجي في العام 2018 داخل القنصلية السعودية في إسطنبول، وبعد أسبوعين من إغلاق تركيا ملف محاكمة مرتكبي الجريمة.
وعقب عودته من السعودية، أفاد إردوغان بأنّ أنقرة والرياض اتفقتا على دفع التعاون الاقتصادي المشترك إلى الأمام، من خلال فعاليات تجمع مستثمري البلدين.
