The new Kuwaiti Emir aš-Sayh Nawāf al-Aḥmad al-Ğābir aṣ-Ṣabāḥ made an important statement about Yemen five years ago when Yemeni sides were negotiating about a ceasefire in the country.

Aš-Sayh Nawāf al-Aḥmad al-Ğābir aṣ-Ṣabāḥ has become the sixteenth Emir of Kuwait, following his late brother, aš-Sayh Ṣabāḥ al-Aḥmad al-Ğābir aṣ-Ṣabāḥ
In this context, diplomats considered that during the reign of Emir Nawāf al-Aḥmad aṣ-Ṣabāḥ Kuwait will continue its work for stability in the region by preserving good relations with the neighboring states.
Local news sources reported statements the new Emir said about Yemen at the time he met the two negotiating delegations in Kuwait five years ago.
After the delegation of Riyadh and the Yemeni national delegation had met with the late Emir of Kuwait, aš-Sayh Ṣabāḥ al-Aḥmad aṣ-Ṣabāḥ, they also met the Crown Prince at that time, Emir Nawāf, who incited the two sides to give concessions and make progress for the interest of Yemen.
He added: Yemen is the origin of all Arabs.. don’t divide in this country. Kuwait is ready to give full support, and this is a historic opportunity. Exploit it before it slips from your hands.

ونقلت مصادر صحفية محلية تصريحات قالها الأمير الجديد عن اليمن، وذلك خلال لقائه بوفدي التفاوض في الكويت قبل خمسة أعوام
وبعد اجتماع وفد الرياض والوفد الوطني اليمني مع أمير الكويت الراحل الشيخ صباح الأحمد الصباح التقى الوفدان بولي العهد حينها الأمير نواف، والذي حث الطرفين على تقديم تنازلات وتقديم مصلحة اليمن
وأضاف: اليمن أصل العرب كلهم.. لا تفرطوا في هذا البلد. الكويت مستعدة تقديم الدعم الكامل وهذه فرصة تاريخية اغتنموها قبل أن تضيع من بين أيديكم
