Director of the Syrian General Intelligence Directorate Ḥusām Lūqā and Director of the Saudi Intelligence Hālid al-Ḥamīdān on the side of the “Arabic Intelligence Forum” have met in Cairo in a public meeting, which counts to the first of its kind between the two sides.
Director of the Syrian General Intelligence Directorate Ḥusām Lūqā and Director of the Saudi Intelligence Hālid al-Ḥamīdān on the side of the “Arabic Intelligence Forum” have met in the Egyptian capital, which was opened on the ninth of this month.
Pictures were posted about these officials coming together in a public meeting, which counts to be the first of its kind in the region, according to how it was described by the Egyptian media.
Major General Ḥusām Lūqā met with directors of the Arab secret services in the forum, on which Egyptian President ‘Abd al-Fattāḥ as-Sīsī held a speech appreciating the joint efforts to strengthen the joint Arabic cooperation on the security and information fields and that Syria to be openly part of these efforts with the approval of the participants.
It should be mentioned that Syrian President Baššār al-Asad welcomed Emirati Foreign Minister ‘Abd Allah ibn Zāyid, who arrived to the Syrian capital Damascus last Tuesday.
The meeting happened not “study the bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries, improve the bilateral cooperation in various fields having mutual interest and exacerbate the effort to reveal new horizons in this cooperation, especially on sectors of livelihood, so to strengthen the investment partnership in these sectors”.
In the same context a Jordanian document and its secret attachment revealed that the final goal of what it described as “Arabic normalization with Damascus” is to extract all foreign troops and foreign fighters from Syria which entered the country after 2011. This would include the withdrawal of the American and “Coalition” troops from Northeast Syria and the dismantling of the American at-Tanaf Base close to the borders with Jordan and Iraq.
Damascus’ participation in such forums, if it was not the first within all other considerations is considered as a signal that the countries coming together, including the Gulf countries which were involved in the project of regime change in Syria fro mother beginning of the crisis to a conviction admitting the failure of the American conspiracy they supported. Also about that the resistance of the Syrian Army, that it reclaimed most of the territories and most importantly that breaking the strategic ties between Damascus and Tehran is a red line.
The visit by Emirati Foreign Minister aš-Šayh ‘Abd Allah ibn Zāyid Āl Nahyān to Syrian, also before that the agreements with Jordan raised questions about the next Gulf official to head to Syria. The continuing indications on the ground point only to that the common Arab demand is to end Damascus’ isolation and to return it to the Arabic League.

التقى مدير إدارة المخابرات العامة السورية، حسام لوقا، رئيسَ المخابرات السعودية، خالد الحميدان، على هامش “المنتدى العربي الاستخباراتي” في العاصمة المصرية القاهرة، والذي جرى افتتاحه في التاسع من الشهر الحالي
وانتشرت صور تجمع المسؤولين في اجتماع علني يُعَدّ الأول من نوعه في المنطقة، بحسب ما وصفته وسائل إعلام مصرية
والتقى اللواء حسام لوقا رؤساء الأجهزة الأمنية العربية في المنتدى، الذي ألقى الرئيس المصري عبد الفتاح السيسي خلاله كلمة ثمّن فيها جهود الجميع لتعزيز التعاون العربي المشترك في المجالات الأمنية والمعلوماتية، وبذلك تكون سوريا منخرطة في هذه الجهود علناً، وبموافقة الحاضرين ومشاركتهم
يُشار إلى أن الرئيس السوري بشار الأسد استقبل وزير الخارجية الإماراتي عبد الله بن زايد، الذي وصل إلى العاصمة السورية دمشق، الثلاثاء الماضي.
وجرى، خلال اللقاء، “البحث في العلاقات الثنائية بين البلدين الشقيقين، وتطوير التعاون الثنائي في مختلف المجالات ذات الاهتمام المشترك، وتكثيف الجهود من أجل استكشاف آفاق جديدة لهذا التعاون، وخصوصاً في القطاعات الحيوية، من أجل تعزيز الشراكات الاستثمارية في هذه القطاعات
وفي هذا السياق، كشفت وثيقة أردنية، وملحقها السري، أن الهدف النهائي مما يمكن وصفه بـ”التطبيع العربي مع دمشق” هو خروج جميع القوات الأجنبية والمقاتلين الأجانب الذين دخلوا البلاد بعد عام 2011، من الأراضي السورية، بما في ذلك انسحاب القوات الأميركية و”التحالف” من شمالي شرقي سوريا، وتفكيك قاعدة التنف الأميركية قرب حدود الأردن والعراق.
وتندرج مشاركة دمشق في منتديات كهذه، وإن لم تكن الأولى، ضمن المعطيات الباقية كإشارة على توصل الدول المجتمعة، ولاسيما الخليجية التي انخرطت في مشروع تغيير النظام في سوريا منذ بداية الأزمة، إلى قناعةٍ راسخة بفشل المؤامرة الأميركية المدعومة منها، وصمود الجيش السوري واستعادته معظم الأراضي، والأهم أن فك أواصر العلاقة الاستراتيجيّة بين دمشق وطِهران خطٌّ أحمر
وفتحت زيارة وزير الخارجية الإماراتي، الشيخ عبد الله بن زايد آل نهيان، لسوريا، وقبلها الاتفاقيات مع الأردن، البابَ أمام تساؤلات عن المسؤول الخليجي التالي الذي سيتوجَّه إلى سوريا. ولا تؤشّر المعطيات المتتالية على الأرض إلاّ على أن المطلب العربي الجامع بات كسر عزلة دمشق، وإعادتها إلى جامعة الدول العربية
