The forces of the American Coalition passes the “K-1l base in the city of Kirkūk over to the Iraqi forces in the presence of the Iraqi military leadership and the leadership of the International Coalition.
The American Coalition lead by the United States announced the emptying of the “K-1” military base in the Iraqi province of Kirkūk and handing all its properties worth $1 million over to the Iraqi government, stressing that the matter has no connection to the recent attacks on its positions, or on the spread of the Corona Virus. It also reaffirmed the continuation of the support for the Iraqi forces in its fight against the Dā‘iš terrorist groups
Myles Caggings, the official spokesman of the Coalition for Combatting Dā‘iš on Sunday said to the Iraqi News Agency (WAA) that “the ceremony of handing over the K-1 Base to the Iraqi Forces came after the success and with work and cooperation with the Iraqi government”, adding that “the withdrawal from the base and handing it over to the Iraqi forces was planned for months”.
In a statement published on Twitter on Sunday the Coalition confirms that “today, on the 29 a ceremony was held handing over the territory designated for the International Coalition within the Kirkūk Airbase from the Joint Forces participating in Operation Imminent Resolve to the Iraqi Forces”.
The statement added “The Coalition continues regroup its forces in Iraq, and the operation of transfer of the positions of its forces, which were planned before, bares not connection with the recent attacks against the Iraqi bases, which host the Coalition, or with the current COVID-19 catastrophe in Iraq”.
It continued: “the Coalition troops transferred $1 million of property as they depart the CJTFOIR compound inside K1 Iraqi Air Base”.
The Iraqi forces have previously took over the al-Qā’im Base at the Syrian-Iraqi border, just like it took over the al-Qayyāra Base in Nineveh Provice from the International Coalition”.

قوات التحالف الأميركي تسلّم قاعدة “كي وان” في مدينة كركوك للقوات العراقية بحضور قيادات عسكرية عراقية وقيادات من التحالف الدولي
أعلن التحالف الأميركي بقيادة الولايات المتحدة إخلاء قاعدة “كي 1” العسكرية في محافظة كركوك العراقية، وتسليم ممتلكات بقيمة مليون دولار إلى الحكومة العراقية، لافتاً إلى أن الأمر لا يتعلق بالهجمات الأخيرة على مواقعه أو تفشي فيروس كورونا، مؤكداً استمراره بدعم القوات العراقية في محاربة عصابات داعش الإرهابية
وقال الناطق باسم التحالف لمحاربة داعش، مايلز كاغينز لوكالة الأنباء العراقية (واع) اليوم الأحد، إن “مراسم تسليم قاعدة K1 إلى القوات العراقية جاء بعد النجاح والعمل والتنسيق المشترك مع الحكومة العراقية”، مضيفاً أن “الانسحاب من القاعدة وتسليمها للقوات العراقية خطط له منذ أشهر
وأكد التحالف في بيان له نشره عبر تويتر اليوم الأحد، أنه “جرت اليوم في 29 آذار/ مارس مراسم تسليم المنطقة الخاصة بالتحالف الدولي ضمن قاعدة كركوك الجوية من قوة المهام المشتركة، عملية العزم الصلب إلى القوات العراقية
وأضاف البيان “يقوم التحالف بإعادة تمركز مواقع قواته في العراق، وأن عملية نقل القواعد التي تم التخطيط لها مسبقاً، ليس لها علاقة بالهجمات الأخيرة ضد القواعد العراقية التي تستضيف التحالف أو الوضع الراهن لجائحة كوفيد 19 بالعراق
وتابع: “سلمت قوات التحالف ممتلكات بقيمة مليون دولار عند خروجها من مجمع قوة المهام المشتركة – عملية العزم الصلب القاعدة الجوية العراقية K1
وكانت القولت العراقية قد تسلمّت في وقت سابق قاعدة القائم على الحدود مع سوريا، كما تسلمّت قاعدة القيارةفي محافظة نينوى من التحالف الدولي
