ON Friday official spokesman of the Yemeni Armed Forces Brigadier General Yaḥyā Sarī‘ announced shooting down a Wing Loong II armed reconnaissance drone of Saudi Arabia.
Brigadier General Sarī‘ explained that the drone “was conducting aggressive operations in the skies of Ma’rib Province”, pointing out that it was shot down by the appropriate weaponry.
Earlier the armed Forces managed to target a Typhoon type Saudi warplane that had taken off from the aṭ-Ṭā’if military base.
The plane was targeted in the skies of Ṣa’da Province using a surface-to-air missile and according to want Sarī‘ announced, it achieved a direct hit.
Meanwhile the Yemeni Armed Forces continue their legal response to the aggression, while that the same time warn the international flight companies, specialists, employees and passengers to avoid taking journeys towards the Saudi airspace and airports, confirming that these are unsafe, “except the airports and the airspace of the holy regions of Mecca and Medina”.

أعلن المتحدث باسم القوات المسلحة اليمنية العميد يحيى سريع، اليوم الجمعة، إسقاط طائرة استطلاع مسلحة من طراز “Wing Loong II” تابعة للسعودية.
وأوضح العميد سريع أن الطائرة “كانت تقوم بأعمال عدائية في أجواء محافظة مأرب”، مشيراً إلى أنها أسقطت بسلاح مناسب
وفي وقت سابق، تمكنت القوات المسلحة من استهداف طائرة حربية سعودية من نوع “تايفون” أقلعت من قاعدة الطائف العسكرية.
واستهدفت الطائرة في أجواء محافظة صعدة باستخدام صاروخ أرض-جو، وأصيبت إصابة مباشرة، وفق ما أعلن سريع.
وتواصل القوات المسلحة اليمنية ردها المشروع على العدوان السعودي، بالتزامن مع تحذيرها لشركات الطيران والخبراء والموظفين والمسافرين من مغبّة تسيير الرحلات باتجاه الأجواء والمطارات السعودية، مؤكدة أنها غير آمنة “باستثناء مطارات وأجواء المناطق المقدسة في مكة المكرمة والمدينة المنورة
