The Qatari Ministry of Interior announces that an explosion took place after a technical incident at a production facility in the area of Ra’s Laffān to the north of Doha, which led to injuries taking place, though no leaking was reported thqt would threaten the life of individuals.

On Sunday the Qatari Ministry of Interior reported an explosion taking place “following an technical incident” at the Ra’s Laffān factory, which is the main operational center of LNG in the country, situated to the north of the capital Doha.
The ministry reported that injuries happened “with no leaking taking place that would threaten the safety of individuals”.
The ministry did not mention the precise location of the explosion, but an insightful source said that it “happened at the Barzān Gas Factory in Ra’s Laffān in result of an operational mistake”, which have led to injuries.
In a later statement Qatar Energy confirmed “an operational mistake taking place while the operations started in the industrial city of Ra’s Laffān, which led to an explosion and a fire at the Barzān Factory, which supplying the local natural gas needs”.

وزارة الداخلية القطرية تعلن عن وقوع انفجار في إثر حادث تقني في مصنع بمنطقة رأس لفان شمال الدوحة، ما أسفر عن وقوع إصابات من دون تسجيل أيّ تسريب يهدّد سلامة الأفراد

أفادت وزارة الداخلية القطرية، بأنّ انفجاراً وقع في “إثر حادث تقني”، الأحد، في مصنع بمنطقة رأس لفان، وهي مركز عمليات معالجة الغاز الطبيعي المسال الرئيسية في البلاد شمالي العاصمة الدوحة.
وأفادت الوزارة بوقوع إصابات “من دون وقوع أيّ تسريب يهدّد سلامة الأفراد”.
ولم تحدّد الوزارة الموقع الدقيق للانفجار لكنّ مصدراً مطلعاً قال إنّه “وقع في مصنع برزان للغاز في رأس لفان نتيجة خطأ تشغيلي”، الأمر الذي أدّى إلى وقوع إصابات.
وأكّدت قطر للطاقة في بيانٍ لاحق “وقوع حادث تشغيلي في أثناء بدء العمليات في مدينة رأس لفان الصناعية، ما أدّى إلى انفجار وحريق في مصنع برزان، الذي يستخدم لاحتياجات الغاز المحلية
