The Iranian and the Russian sides announced that Russian President Vladimir Putin will head to Tehran next week to take part in a triple meeting with his Iranian and Turkish counterparts.
The official spokesman of the Kremlin Dimitry Peskov said on Tuesday that Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit Tehran on 19 July.
Peskov explained that President Putin will hold negotiations with his Iranian counterpart Ebrāhīm Ra’īsī and his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in the context of bringing together the leaders of states guaranteeing the Astana process about the Syria settlement.
He continued: “The journey by the President to Tehran is indeed under preparation and there will be a meeting between the presidents of states guaranteeing the Astana process to a conference about the Syrian settlement. Aside from the triple meeting, naturally, there will also be separate bilateral meetings and negotiations with the Turkish President”. He added: “yesterday we announced that the are high-level communications between Putin and Erdoğan and there will be a meeting”.
The Iranian “Mehr” news agency had reported earlier the announcement by the President of the Iranian Parliament’s Economic Committee Moḥammad Nūr Ebrāhīmī that President Putin will visit Iran next week.
Ebrāhīmī said that “most likely the expected negotiations between Putin and will focus on how to develop the economic cooperation between Iran and Russia”.
The announcement of the journey comes at the same time with American National Security Advisor Jack Sullivan saying that his country has information suggesting that Tehran is ready to supply Moscow with hundreds of drones and train Russian soldiers on how to use these.
While taking part in the summit of the six states with access to the Caspian Sea, during his meeting with his Iranian counterpart on 29 June Putin confirmed that neither of the states is in constant contact about security matters, yet they have a lot of issues to talk about.
Ra’īsī said at that time that the Russian-Iranian trade relations are developing and nothing will stop this development saying: “The agreements we reached are under implementation and that points out the will of the two states aiming to develop their trade and economic relations”.

الجانبان الإيراني والروسي يعلنان أنّ الرئيس الروسي فلاديمير بوتين سيتوجّه الأسبوع المقبل إلى طهران، للمشاركة في قمة ثلاثية مع نظيريه الإيراني والتركي
أكد المتحدث باسم الكرملين ديمتري بيسكوف، اليوم الثلاثاء، أنّ الرئيس الروسي فلاديمير بوتين سيزور طهران في 19 تموز/يوليو.
وأوضح بيسكوف أنّ الرئيس بوتين سيجري محادثات مع نظيريه الإيراني إبراهيم رئيسي والتركي رجب طيب إردوغان، في إطار اجتماع قادة الدول الضامنة لعملية أستانة بشأن التسوية السورية.
وتابع: “رحلة الرئيس إلى طهران قيد الإعداد بالفعل، سيكون هناك اجتماع لرؤساء الدول الضامنة لعملية أستانا للترويج بشأن التسوية السورية. وإضافة إلى الاجتماع الثلاثي، بالطبع ستكون هناك أيضاً اجتماعات ثنائية ومحادثات منفصلة مع الرئيس التركي”، مضيفاً: “بالأمس صرّحنا عن الاتصالات رفيعة المستوى بين بوتين وإردوغان، وسيعقد الاجتماع هناك”.
وكانت وكالة “مهر” الإيرانية للأنباء نقلت، في وقت سابق، تصريح رئيس لجنة الاقتصاد في البرلمان الإيراني محمد بور إبراهيمي بأنّ الرئيس بوتين سيزور إيران الأسبوع المقبل.
وقال إبراهيمي إنّ “من المرجح أن تركز المشاورات المحتملة بين بوتين ورئيسي على تطوير التعاون الاقتصادي بين إيران وروسيا”.
ويأتي إعلان الزيارة بالتزامن مع قول مستشار الأمن القومي الأميركي جيك سوليفان إنّ لدى بلاده معلومات تفيد بأنّ طهران تستعد لتزويد موسكو بمئات الطائرات المسيرة، وتدريب جنود روس على استخدامها.
وكان بوتين أكد في لقاء مع نظيره الإيراني، في 29 حزيران/يونيو، على هامش اجتماع القمة السادس للدول المطلة على بحر قزوين، أنّ كلا البلدين في تواصل مستمر بشأن القضايا الأمنية، وأنّ لديهما العديد من الأمور للحديث بشأنها.
وقال رئيسي، في ذلك الوقت، إنّ العلاقات التجارية الروسية الإيرانية تتطور، ولن يوقف هذا التطور أي شيء، معقباً: “الاتفاقات التي توصلنا إليها قيد التنفيذ، وهذا يشير إلى أنّ إرادة دولتينا تهدف إلى تطوير العلاقات التجارية والاقتصادية
