Spokesman of the Joint Iraqi Operations Taḥsīn al-Haffāğī says that the American Forces totally completed their withdrawal from the ‘Ayn al-Asad vase, only advisors stayed behind and their role is only to advise.
Spokesman of the Joint Iraqi Operations Taḥsīn al-Haffāğī confirmed today, on Monday that the American fighting forces completed their withdrawal from the ‘Ayn al-Asad base in al-Anbār Province in the West of Iraq, thus explained also that they will also pull out their forces from the al-Ḥarīr base in Irbīl also within few days.
Al-Haffāğī in a conversation with the Sputnik website pointed out that “the American forces totally completed their withdrawal from the ‘Ayn al-Asad base, only advisors stayed behind and their role confined to advising only”.
He added: “As for the al-Ḥarīr base a special security delegation will go to this base within the next few days to oversee the the withdrawal process by the American combat forces from there”. He thus explained that the announcement about the withdrawal of all American fighting forces from Iraq will happen on 31 December this year.
Few days ago the spokesman of the Supreme Commander of the Iraqi Armed Forces Major General Yaḥyā Rasūl said that the Military Technical Committee confirmed the end of the combat duties for the “Coalition” Forces during its visit to the ‘Ayn al-Asad base.
He added that “the advisory work of the Coalition forces in ‘Ayn al-Asad will go under the administration of an Iraqi commander and under Iraqi protection”.
Rasūl pointed out that “many sites within the base were completely evacuated by the foreign combat troops and a number of positions continue to provide equipment and preparations giving logistical support to the same Iraqi forces from weapons, vehicles and equipment supporting the Iraqi forces in their duty to protect the country”.
It should be mentioned that the Joint Iraqi Operations Command few days ago confirmed that the combat troops of the International Coalition will completely leave Iraq before the end of this month, thus denying what was presented on some media outlets about these troops staying.
Upon his visit to Washington on 25 July Iraqi Prime Minister Muṣṭafā al-Kāẓimī said that “Iraq and the United States in a conversation laid out a set of special tasks in Iraq within the last year about the foundations of the relations between the two countries after the American withdrawal”.
On his behalf Iraqi President Barham Ṣāliḥ said in late July that “the results of the American-Iraqi strategic meeting are important to achieve the stability and strengthen the Iraqi sovereignty and comes as the fruit meticulous work by the government led by Muṣṭafā al-Kāẓimī and by the support of the national forces and is supported by the religious authorities of the state”.

أكّد المتحدث باسم العمليات المشتركة العراقية، تحسين الخفاجي، اليوم الإثنين، أن القوات القتالية الأميركية أكملت انسحابها من قاعدة “عين الأسد” في محافظة الأنبار، غربي العراق، موضحاً أنها ستُجلي أيضاً قواتها من قاعدة الحرير في أربيل خلال أيام.
وبيّن الخفاجي، في حديث له إلى موقع “سبوتنيك”، أن “القوات الأميركية أكملت انسحابها بالكامل من قاعدة عين الأسد، ولم يتبقَّ سوى المستشارين، وهؤلاء دورهم للاستشارة فقط”.
وأضاف “أمّا بالنسبة إلى قاعدة الحرير، فسيذهب وفد أمني خاصّ إلى هذه القاعدة خلال الأيام القليلة المقبلة لمتابعة سير عملية انسحاب القوات القتالية الأميركية منها”، موضحاً أن الإعلان الرسمي بشأن انسحاب جميع القوات القتالية الأميركية من العراق، سيكون في الـ 31 من كانون الأول/ديسمبر الحالي.
ومنذ أيام، قال المتحدث باسم القائد الأعلى للقوات المسلحة العراقية، اللواء يحيى رسول، أنّ اللجنة الفنية العسكرية أكّدت إنهاء المهمات القتالية لقوات “التحالف” خلال زيارتها قاعدةَ عين الأسد.
وأضاف أنّ “عمل مستشاري قوّات التحالف في عين الأسد سيكون بإدارة قائد عسكري عراقي، وبحماية عراقية”.
وأشار رسول إلى أنّ “أماكن كثيرة داخل القاعدة تم إخلاؤها من القوات الأجنبية القتالية بصورة تامّة، وعدة مواقع تُعتبر تابعة لتسليم معدات وتجهيزات دعم لوجستي إلى القوات العراقية نفسها، من أسلحة وآليات ومعدات تدعم القوات العراقية في مهمة الدفاع عن البلد”.
يُذكر أنّ قيادة العمليات المشتركة العراقية أكّدت، قبل أيام، أنّ القوات القتالية للتحالف الدولي ستغادر العراق بالكامل قبل نهاية هذا الشهر، نافيةً ما صدر عن بعض وسائل الإعلام بخصوص بقاء هذه القوات.
وكان رئيس الوزراء العراقي، مصطفى الكاظمي، قال عشية زيارته واشنطن في الـ25 من تموز/يوليو الماضي، إن “العراق والولايات المتحدة انخرطا في نقاش ضمن مجموعة عمل خاصة بالعراق، خلال السنة الماضية، بشأن أسس العلاقة بين البلدين بعد الانسحاب الأميركيّ“.
بدوره، قال الرئيس العراقي برهم صالح، في الأيام الأخيرة من تموز/يوليو، إن “نتائج الحوار الاستراتيجيّ العراقي – الأميركي مهمة لتحقيق الاستقرار وتعزيز السيادة العراقية، وتأتي ثمرة عمل حثيث من الحكومة برئاسة مصطفى الكاظمي، وبدعم القوى الوطنية، وتستند إلى مرجعية الدولة
