The spokesman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry Sa‘īd Haṭībzāde announces the death of Iranian ambassador in Yemen Ḥasan Īrlū in result of contracting the Corona virus.
The spokesman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry Sa‘īd Haṭībzāde announced the death of Iranian ambassador in Yemen Ḥasan Īrlū on Tuesday morning in result of contracting the Corona virus.
Haṭībzāde added that “Īrlū suffered a chemical attack during the Iraqi-Irani war and than the Corona virus in his duty station in Yemen. He returned to his country in an unstable state because of the delayed cooperation by certain countries”. Thus pointing out that “despite all phases of the treatment was used to improve his health condition, he passed away today dawn”.
Few days ago Haṭībzāde announced that the necessary preparations were taken to transport Īrlū to Iran in order to cure him.
It should be mentioned that Īrlū was born in Šahr-e Ray south of Tehran, he was a diplomat and worked for years in the Iranian Foreign Ministry and as expert of Arab affairs.
Amongst the responsibilities he took he was “in charge of the Yemen branch” in the Iranian Foreign Ministry after the aggression started against Yemen in 2015, he was also the intermediary for the Iranian humanitarian aid to Yemen and was in cooperation with the U.N. He was also special Deputy for the Iranian Foreign Minister between 2015 and 2020 before receiving his post as the ambassador of Iran in Sana’a.

المتحدث باسم الخارجية الإيرانية سعيد خطيب زاده يعلن وفاة السفير الإيراني لدى اليمن حسن إيرلو نتيجة إصابته بفيروس كورونا.
أعلن المتحدث باسم الخارجية الإيرانية، سعيد خطيب زاده، وفاة السفير الإيراني لدى اليمن حسن إيرلو صباح اليوم الثلاثاء متأثراً بإصابته بفيروس كورونا.
وأضاف خطيب زاده أنّ “إيرلو كان قد أصيب بهجومٍ كيمياوي أثناء الحرب العراقية- الإيرانية، ثم أصيب بفيروس كورونا في مكان مهمته في اليمن، وعاد إلى بلاده في ظروف غير مؤاتية بسبب التعاون المتأخر من بعض الدول”، لافتاً إلى أنه “على الرغم من استخدام جميع مراحل العلاج لتحسين حالته الصحية، إلا أنه توفي فجر اليوم”.
وكان خطيب زاده أعلن منذ أيام إنجاز الاستعدادات اللازمة لنقل إيرلو إلى إيران بهدف علاجه.
يُذكر أنّ إيرلو وُلد في شهرري، جنوب طهران، وهو دبلوماسي وعمل منذ سنوات في وزارة الخارجية الإيرانية وخبيراً في الشؤون العربية.
ومن المسؤوليات التي تولاها، “مسؤول طاولة اليمن” في وزارة الخارجية الإيرانية بعد بدء العدوان على اليمن عام 2015، ومنسق المساعدات الإنسانية الإيرانية إلى اليمن، والتنسيق مع الأمم المتحدة. وكما كان نائب المساعد الخاص لوزير الخارجية الإيراني لشؤون من عام 2015 إلى عام 2020 قبل توليه منصب سفير إيران في صنعاء
