An attack “with armed drones” targeting the Irbil International Airport in Northern Iraq. Insightful sources to tell al-Mayadeen that what was targeted is a spying outlet for the Mossad.
The security services of Kurdistan region in Iraq announced yesterday night, on Saturday that at least three missiles fell in the vicinity of Irbil International Airport in Northern Iraq, which hosts American troops.
Insightful sources told al-Mayadeen that “what was targeted yesterday north of the Irbil airport in Iraqi Kurdistan is a headquarters for the Mossad”. They pointed out that “the targeted headquarters is a spying outlet for the Mossad, and was hit with drones and Katyusha rockets”.
The reporter of al-Mayadeen talks about preliminary informations about the attack in the vicinity of the American position and the Irbil airport with bomb carrying drones.
The anti-terrorist unit in the Iraqi Kurdistan region in a statement said that “the attack on the Irbil International Airport was performed with armed drones”, and “did not cause any damage” in the airport. According to what the director of the airport Aḥmad Hošyār said there is an airbase here for the forces of the International Coalition.
The airborne trips were stopped from Irbil airport following the missile attacks. Until now the reports did not mention any damage or victims.
The airport in Irbil, the capital of Iraqi Kurdistan region faced repeated attacks during the last year, amongst these attacks using drones carrying explosives.
The village of Barāġ, which is only 3 kilometers away from the new position of the American consulate in Irbil, capital of Iraqi Kurdistan region in June had also faced an attack using drones.

هجوم بـ”طائرات مسيرة مسلّحة” يستهدف مطار أربيل الدولي شماليّ العراق، ومصادر مطلعة للميادين تقول إنّ ما تمّ استهدافه هو وكر تجسس للموساد.
أعلن الجهاز الأمني لإقليم كردستان العراق، مساء أمس السبت، سقوط ثلاثة صواريخ على الأقل قرب مطار أربيل الدولي شمال العراق، والذي يستضيف قوات أميركية.
وقالت مصادر مطلعة للميادين إنّ “ما تم استهدافه أمس شمال مطار أربيل في كردستان العراق هو مقر تابع للموساد”. وأشارت إلى أنّ “المقر المستهدف هو وكر تجسس للموساد، وتمّ ضربه بمسيرات وبصواريخ كاتيوشا”.
وكان مراسل الميادين تحدّث عن معلومات أولية عن هجوم قرب الموقع الأميركي ومطار أربيل بطائرات مسيرة مفخخة.
وقالت وحدة مكافحة الإرهاب في إقليم كردستان العراق، في بيان لها، إن “الهجوم على مطار أربيل الدولي نفّذ بطائرات مسيرة مسلّحة”، و”لم تلحق أي أضرار” بالمطار، حيث توجد قاعدة جوية لقوات التحالف الدولي، وفق ما قال مدير المطار أحمد هوشيار.
وتوقفت الرحلات الجوية من مطار أربيل على إثر الهجوم الصاروخي. ولم ترد تقارير حتى الآن عن حدوث أضرار أو سقوط ضحايا.
وتعرض المطار في أربيل، عاصمة إقليم كردستان العراق، لهجمات متكررة خلال العام الماضي، منها هجمات باستخدام طائرات مسيرة محملة بمتفجرات.
كما كانت قرية براغ، التي تبعد 3 كيلومترات فقط عن موقع القنصلية الأميركية الجديد في أربيل عاصمة إقليم كردستان العراق، قد تعرّضت في حزيران/يونيو الماضي، إلى هجوم عن طريق طائرات مسيرة من نوع دورن.
