In a previously unannounced visit Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with his Syrian colleague Baššār al-Asad in the Russian capital Moscow.
The Kremlin reported on Tuesday morning that Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with his Syrian counterpart Baššār al-Asad, who arrived to the Russian capital Moscow in a previously unannounced visit.
During the meeting Putin pointed out that “the Syrian President does a lot to hold negotiations with the political opposition”.
Putin congratulated al-Asad for “the good presidential elections results” saying that these results “confirm that the Syrians trust in you despite all the difficulties and tragedies the last few years witnessed and that they have faith in you in the process of return to the normal life”.
The Russian President added: “with our joint efforts we struck a blow upon the terrorists”, pointing out that “the Syrian Army controls more than 90% of the country’s territories despite a number of terrorist hideouts are still present”.
He pointed out that fundamental problem of Syria, which is the illegal presence of foreign forces on its land expressing that “this complicates the progress on the path of strengthening the unity of the country”.
Putin pointed out that trade exchange between Russian and Syria increased with 3,5 times in the first half of this year, and also that the first deliveries of the “Sputnik V” and “Sputnik Light” vaccines were delivered to Syria.
According to the Kremlin President al-Asad turned to Putin saying that “the armies of the two countries greatly contributed to the defense of humanity from the evil of international terrorism”, adding that “some countries have devastating effect upon the possibility of political processes on every way”.
Al-Asad added that the Syrian and Russian armies achieved important results in the liberation of the territories and destroying terrorism and contributed to the return of refugees, who were forces to leave their homes.
He believed that “the international terrorism knows no borders and spreads as a disease in all parts of the world”. Thus he underlined that “the two armies had a great contribution to the matter of protection of the humanity from the terrorism”.
The Syrian President confirmed that “our political action, whether in Sochi, or in Astana also contributed to the normalization of life in Syria”. He pointed out “some countries, which have devastating effect on the political actions in every way”.
Al-Asad described that sanctions imposed on Syria as “inhuman and illegal”, thanking “Russia and its people for helping for the humanitarian help the Russian Federation gave to Syria”.

في زيارة غير معلنة مسبقاً، الرئيس الروسي فلاديمير بوتين يعقد اجتماعاً مع نظيره السوري بشار الأسد في العاصمة الروسية موسكو.
أفاد الكرملين، صباح اليوم الثلاثاء، بأن الرئيس الروسي فلاديمير بوتين عقد اجتماعاً مع نظيره السوري بشار الأسد الذي وصل إلى العاصمة الروسية موسكو في زيارة غير معلنة مسبقاً.
وأشار بوتين خلال اللقاء إلى أن “الرئيس السوري يفعل الكثير لإقامة حوار مع المعارضين السياسيين”.
كما هنأ بوتين الأسد بـ”النتائج الجيدة للانتخابات الرئاسية”، قائلاً إن هذه النتائج “تؤكد أن السوريين يثقون بك، وعلى الرغم من كل الصعوبات والمآسي التي شهدتها السنوات السابقة، فإنهم يُعوّلون عليك في عملية العودة إلى الحياة الطبيعية”.
وأضاف الرئيس الروسي: “بجهودنا المشتركة وجهنا ضربة للإرهابيين”، لافتاً إلى أن “الجيش السوري يسيطر على أكثر من 90% من أراضي البلاد، رغم بقاء عدد من بؤر الإرهاب قائمة”.
وأشار إلى أن المشكلة الأساسية لسوريا هي الوجود غير الشرعي للقوات الأجنبية على أراضيها، معتبراً أن “هذا يعيق التقدم على طريق تعزيز وحدة البلاد”.
ولفت بوتين إلى أن التبادل التجاري بين روسيا وسوريا ازداد بمقدار 3.5 مرة في النصف الأول من العام الجاري، كما أنه تم تسليم أولى شحنات لقاحات “سبوتنيك V” و”سبوتنيك لايت” لسوريا.
وبحسب الكرملين، توجه الرئيس الأسد لبوتين بالقول إن “جيشي البلدين أسهما كثيراً في حماية البشرية من شرّ الإرهاب الدولي”، مضيفاً أن “بعض الدول لها تأثير مدمر على إمكانية إجراء العمليات السياسية بكل الطرق”.
وأضاف الأسد أن الجيشين السوري والروسي حققا نتائج مهمة في تحرير الأراضي وتدمير الإرهاب، وساهما بعودة اللاجئين الذين أجبروا على مغادرة منازلهم.
واعتبر أن “الإرهاب الدولي لا يعرف حدوداً وينتشر مثل العدوى في جميع أنحاء العالم”، مشدداً على أن “الجيشين أسهما إسهاماً كبيراً في قضية حماية البشرية جمعاء من الإرهاب”.
الرئيس السوري أكد أن “أعمالنا السياسية سواء كانت في سوتشي أو في أستانة ساهمت أيضاً في تطبيع الحياة في سوريا”، مشيراً إلى أن “بعض الدول التي لها تأثير مدمر على إمكانية إجراء العمليات السياسية بكل طريقة”.
ووصف الأسد العقوبات المفروضة على سوريا بأنها “لا إنسانية ولا شرعية”، شاكراً “روسيا وشعبها على المساعدة الإنسانية التي يقدمها الاتحاد الروسي إلى سوريا”
