Algerian Chief of Staff General Sa‘īd Šanqrīḥa says during a visit to Moscow that “the strong relations between Algeria and Russia well reflect the strategic partnership between us”.
Algerian Chief of Staff General Sa‘īd Šanqrīḥa during his visit to Russia confirmed that “the relations between Russia and Algeria are very strong and are based on solid foundations”.
During his meeting with the Russian Minister of Defense Sergei Shoygu General Šanqrīḥa said that “the strong relations between the two countries reflect well the strategic partnership between us and has arrived at an exemplary level. We hope to make it a priority and preserve the high level it has achieved”.
He added that “Algeria is grateful to Russia for strengthening the capabilities of the (Algerian) armed forces in the country and for the help fighting the threats and challenges in light of the dwindling situation in the region and around the world”.
General Sa‘īd Šanqrīḥa underlined that “Algeria plays a central role, not only at the Mediterranean and North Africa but also at every region of the African continent”. Thus adding “for many years the region was marked by factors of a great crisis, which naturally affected the stability, like in Libya and Mali”.
General Sa‘īd Šanqrīḥa expressed his great appreciation for the efforts Russia takes to strengthen the strategic stability and the role it plays in Syria. He added: “We cherish the stance of Russia and we see the bravery it shows in the international field while striving for a peaceful solution”.

أكّد رئيس أركان الجيش الجزائري، الفريق السعيد شنقريحة، على هامش زيارته روسيا، أن “العلاقات بين روسيا والجزائر قوية جداً، وتقوم على أساس متين
وخلال لقائه وزير الدفاع الروسي سيرغي شويغو، قال الفريق شنقريحة إن “العلاقات القوية بين البلدين تعكس طبيعة الشراكة الاستراتيجية بينهما، ووصلت إلى مستوىً مثالي، ونأمل في أن نجعلها أولوية، ونحافظ على المستوى العالي الذي بلغته
وأضاف أن “الجزائر ممتنّة لروسيا بسبب تعزيزها إمكانات القوات المسلّحة (الجزائرية) في البلاد، والمساعدة على مواجهة التهديدات والتحديات، على خلفية الوضع المتدهور في المنطقة والعالم
وشدّد الفريق السعيد شنقريحة على أن “الجزائر تؤدي دوراً مركزياً، ليس فقط في البحر الأبيض المتوسط وشمال أفريقيا، لكن في جميع أنحاء القارة الأفريقية”، مضيفاً “تميَّزت المنطقة منذ عدة سنوات بوجود عوامل أزمة كبيرة تؤثّر، على نحو طبيعي، في الاستقرار، مثل ليبيا ومالي
وأعرب الفريق السعيد شنقريحة عن امتنانه الكبير للجهود التي تبذلها روسيا لتعزيز الاستقرار الاستراتيجي، وللدور الذي تؤديه في سوريا. وأضاف “إننا نشاطر موقف روسيا، ونرى الشجاعة التي تظهرها في الساحة الدولية في إطار سعيها لتسوية سلمية
