Algerian oil and gas company Sonatrach announces the signing of an agreement with the Chinese Sinopec oil and petrochemical company aiming for joint oil production.
Algerian oil and gas company Sonatrach signed an agreement with the Chinese petrol and petrochemical company Sinopec with the aim of joint oil production with a value of $490 million.
Executive Director of the Algerian National Energy Company Tawfīq Ḥakkār said that “Sonatrach signed an agreement of joint production with a value of $490 with the Chinese petrol and petrochemical company Sinopec to extract oil in the area of Zarzāytīn at the Ilīzī basin”.
According to the Algerian official, “its timeframe is for 25 years to produce altogether 95 million barrels of oil”.
The Algerian Fuel Company last Thursday announced that it “approved a contract with China with a value of $520 million to build an MTGE refinery”.
The company added in the signing ceremony that the project “will go into effect in 2025 with a production capacity of 200 thousand tons a year”. It is scheduled that it soon commences after the government agreed to the preliminary phase.
Algerian President ‘Abd al-Mağīd Tabbūn announced on 9 May this year to launch the preliminary execution of the project to exploit the Ġār Ğabīlāt reserves in Algeria, which counts to be one of the biggest reserves for iron around the world and the partnership is conducted with China. This is within the partnership agreements with 3 Chinese companies working in the field of mineral extraction.

شركة النفط والغاز الجزائرية سوناطراك تعلن توقيعها اتفاقاً مع شركة سينوبك الصينية للبترول والكيماويات، بهدف إنتاج مشترك للنفط
وقّعت شركة النفط والغاز الجزائرية سوناطراك اتفاقاً مع شركة سينوبك الصينية للبترول والكيماويات، بهدف إنتاج مشترك للنفط، تقدر قيمته بـ490 مليون دولار.
وقال الرئيس التنفيذي لشركة الطاقة الوطنية الجزائرية توفيق حكار، إنّ “سوناطراك وقّعت اتفاق مشاركة إنتاج بقيمة 490 مليون دولار مع شركة البترول والكيماويات الصينية سينوبك، للتنقيب عن النفط في منطقة زرزايتين في حوض إليزي”.
ووفق المسؤول الجزائري، فإنّ الاتفاق “تبلغ مدّته 25 عاماً ويرتقب أن ينتج بالإجمال 95 مليون برميل من النفط”.
وأعلنت شركة المحروقات الجزائرية، الخميس الفائت، أنّها “منحت الصين عقداً قيمته 520 مليون دولار لبناء مصنع ميثيل تريبوتيل الإيثر (MTBE)”.
وأضافت الشركة، خلال حفل التوقيع، أنّ المشروع “سيدخل حيّز الإنتاج في عام 2025 بطاقة إنتاجية تبلغ 200 ألف طن سنوياً”. ومن المقرر أن ينطلق قريباً بعدما وافقت الحكومة على الانطلاق بمرحلته الأولى.
وكان الرئيس الجزائري عبد المجيد تبون أعلن، في 9 أيار/مايو الجاري، انطلاق المراحل الأولى لإنجاز مشروع استغلال منجم غار جبيلات في الجزائر، ويُعد واحداً من أضخم المناجم النائمة على معدن الحديد في العالم وينفّذ بالشراكة مع الصين، وضمن اتفاقيات شراكة مع 3 شركات صينية عملاقة تعمل ضمن مجال التنقيب المنجمي
