Iraqi Prime Minister Muṣṭafā al-Kāẓimī confirms that “an Iraqi work group will visit Iran to solve the current complications with the Iranian side about supplying Iraq with natural gas”.
Iraqi Prime Minister Muṣṭafā al-Kāẓimī in Sunday tasked a work group from the Ministry of Electricity to head to Iran study the complications about supplying the country with natural gas.
Al-Kāẓimī said in a statement on Sunday during his meeting with at the energy ministry that he is pacing ways to contact the Iranian side about allowing Iranian natural gas to Iraq, pointing out that “a work group from the Ministry of Electricity will travel to the Islamic Republic of Iran to solve the current complications with the Iranian side about supplying Iraq with natural gas”.
Al-Kāẓimī discussed the matter of electricity, the ongoing preparations to secure electric power and the necessary precautionary measures to solve the complications and the obstacles, which might make the increase of production difficult and cause a foreseeable crisis. The aim is to secure increased hours provided for the citizens with electric power during the summer season.
He pointed out “providing an offered plan for the protection of electric power towers”, underlining the importance of continued work securing the Baghdad/Bayğī-400 KF route which still needs necessary works to be brought into service.
The Iraqi government largely relies on Iranian natural gas in its electricity production all around the country.

رئيس الوزراء العراقي مصطفى الكاظمي، يؤكّد أن “فريق عمل عراقي سيزور إيران لحل الإشكالات المتعلقة مع الجانب الإيراني فيما يخص تجهيز العراق بالغاز”.
كلّف رئيس الوزراء العراقي مصطفى الكاظمي، اليوم الأحد، فريق عمل من وزارة الكهرباء التوجه إلى إيران والتباحث حول إشكاليات تجهيز البلاد بالغاز.
وقال الكاظمي، في بيان اليوم الأحد، خلال اجتماعه بالمجلس الوزاري للطاقة، إنه تطرّق إلى آليات التواصل مع الجانب الإيراني، فيما يخصّ توفير الغاز الإيراني للعراق، مشيراً إلى أنّ “فريق عمل من وزارة الكهرباء سيسافر إلى الجمهورية الإسلامية الإيرانية، لحلّ الإشكالات المتعلقة مع الجانب الإيراني فيما يخص تجهيز العراق بالغاز”.
وناقش الكاظمي الوضع الحالي للكهرباء، والاستعدادات الجارية لتوفير الطاقة الكهربائية، والإجراءات الاستباقية الكفيلة بمعالجة الإشكالات والعقبات التي قد تعرقل زيادة الإنتاج وتتسبب بأزمة محتملة، بهدف ضمان زيادة ساعات تجهيز المواطنين بالتيار الكهربائي خلال فصل الصيف.
وأشار إلى “تقديم عرض عن خطط حماية أبراج الطاقة الكهربائية”، مشدداً على أهمية سير الأعمال في تأهيل خط بغداد/بيجي-400 كي في، ومتابعة المتبقي من الأعمال اللازمة لاستكمال تشغيله.
