Iraqi Prime Minister Muṣṭafā al-Kāẓimī confirms that the participants on the “Baghdad Summit”, which was held in the Iraqi capital agreed on “starting a new chapter with Syria”.
Iraqi Prime Minister Muṣṭafā al-Kāẓimī confirmed that the states participating on the “Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership” agreed on opening a new chapter with the Syrian side, thus pointing out that there has been “six reconciliations between states of the region”.
Al-Kāẓimī said in a statement to the “aš-Šarq” channel on Thursday that the participants of the “Baghdad Summit”, which was held in the Iraqi capital last Saturday agreed on “starting a new chapter with Syria”, expressing that “if Syria participated, others could not have done so”.
The Iraqi Prime Minister added that “Iraqi efforts were taken on the summit, which led to 6 reconciliations between states participating on the summit”. Thus he pointed out that “that happened between Saudi Arabia and Iran, Egypt and Qatar, and there were meetings on the side of the summit apart from other meetings haven’t been announced about them yet”.
A group of Arabic and foreign states sent delegations to Iraq on Saturday morning to participate on the Baghdad Summit, which was summoned by the government of Muṣṭafā al-Kāẓimī.

رئيس الوزراء العراقي مصطفى الكاظمي يؤكد أن المشاركين في “قمة بغداد”، التي عقدت في العاصمة العراقية، توافقوا على “بدء صفحة جديدة مع سوريا”.
أكد رئيس الوزراء العراقي مصطفى الكاظمي أن الدول المشاركة في “مؤتمر بغداد للتعاون والشراكة”، وافقت على فتح صفحة جديدة مع الجانب السوري، لافتاً إلى عقد “ست مصالحات بين دول المنطقة”.
وقال الكاظمي في تصريحات لقناة “الشرق”، اليوم الخميس، إن المشاركين في “قمة بغداد”، التي عقدت في العاصمة العراقية، السبت الماضي، توافقوا على “بدء صفحة جديدة مع سوريا”، معتبراً أنه “لو حضرت سوريا لامتنعت دول أخرى عن الحضور”.
وأضاف رئيس الوزراء العراقي أن “جهوداً عراقية بُذلت في القمة أدت لعقد 6 مصالحات بين الدول المشاركة في القمة”، لافتاً إلى “عقد كل من السعودية وإيران ومصر وقطر، لقاءات على هامش القمة، فضلاً عن لقاءات أخرى لم يعلن عنها”.
وتوافدت قادة مجموعة دول عربية وأجنبية إلى العراق صباح يوم السبت الماضي، للمشاركة في قمة بغداد التي دعت إليها حكومة مصطفى الكاظمي.
