Qatari Foreign Minister Muḥammad ‘Abd ar-Raḥmān Āl Tānī confirms the cooperation of his country with the “Ṭālebān” Movement to “open” the Kabul airport.
Qatari Foreign Minister Muḥammad ‘Abd ar-Raḥmān Āl Tānī confirmed that Doha cooperates with the “Ṭālebān” Movement in order to restart the operation of the Ḥamīd Karzāy Kabul international airport in the capital Kabul.
The Qatari Foreign Minister pointed out in a joint press conference with his British colleague Dominic Raab that “his county will cooperate Turkey to open the airport”. Thus he pointed out that “the schedule when to restart the operation the airport is not yet clear”.
Previously the Russian “Novosty” agency confirmed that experts from Qatar and Turkey have arrived to Kabul airport in preparation to relaunch the operations there after the withdrawal of the last American soldier from there and the “Ṭālebān” Movement taking it over.
American President Joe Biden expressed on Monday that “the withdrawal operation from Afghanistan was an exceptional success”. He said: 90% of the Americans who wanted to leave Afghanistan “actually left”. Thus he pointed out that “the United States ended the longest war of its history”.
The United States completely withdrew its forces from Afghanistan on 31 August, and that was the deadline the White House had outlined.
In the same context the U.N. Security Council called upon the “Ṭālebān” Movement to guarantee the safe departure of the Afghans and foreign nationals from the county.
It passed a resolution, which called for “increased efforts for providing humanitarian help” by 13 members, while Russia and China abstained from the vote.

وزير الخارجية القطريّ محمد بن عبد الرحمن آل ثاني يؤكد تعاون بلاده مع حركة “طالبان” من أجل “فتح” مطار كابول.
أكد وزير الخارجية القطريّ محمد بن عبد الرحمن آل ثاني أنّ الدوحة تتعاون مع حركة “طالبان” من أجل استئناف العمل في مطار حامد كرزاي، الدوليّ في العاصمة كابول.
وأشار وزير الخارجية القطري، في مؤتمر صحافيّ مشترك، مع نظيره البريطانيّ دومينيك راب، إلى أنّ “بلاده تعمل مع تركيا على فتح المطار”، مشيراً إلى أنّ “موعد إعادة تشغيل المطار لم يتضح بعد”.
وسبق أن أكدت وكالة “نوفوستي” الروسية وصول خبراء من قطر وتركيا إلى مطار كابول، تمهيداً لاستئناف العمل فيه بعد انسحاب آخر جندي أميركيّ منه واستكمال حركة “طالبان” سيطرتها عليه.
واعتبر الرئيس الأميركي جو بايدن، يوم الإثنين، أن “عملية الإجلاء الأميركية من أفغانستان نجاح استثنائي”، وقال إن: 90% من الأميركيين الذين رغبوا بمغادرة أفغانستان “غادروها بالفعل”، مشيراً إلى أن “الولايات المتحدة أنهت أطول الحروب في تاريخها”.
وأنهت الولايات المتحدة انسحاب قواتها بشكل كامل، من أفغانستان، في 31 آب/ أغسطس الماضي، وهي المهلة التي حددها البيت الأبيض في السابق.
وفي سياق متصل، دعا مجلس الأمن الدولي، ، حركة “طالبان” إلى ضمان الخروج الآمن للأفغان والمواطنين الأجانب من البلاد.
وصوّت على القرار الذي يدعو إلى “تكثيف الجهود لتقديم المساعدة الإنسانية”، 13 عضواً، فيما امتنعت روسيا والصين عن التصويت.
