The President of the Sudanese National Party told Reuters that the army will reinstate ‘Abd Allah Ḥamdūk to the position of Prime Minister after an agreement was reached.

The president of the Sudanese National Party pointed out that Ḥamdūk “will form a technocrat government and the release of all political detainees will happen”.

Citing a Sudanese source the Reuters agency also pointed out that “Ḥamdūk is part of the agreement with the army and the announcement of the constitution is still the bases of the negotiations”.

The source added that “Ḥamdūk agreed to the agreement to stop the bloodshed after the protests against the military coup, which happened a month ago”.

The source said that “the announcement of the constitution which was made between the military and the civilians in 2019 will remain the basis of the negotiations”.

The Forces of Freedom and Change in Sudan: The protests scheduled for today are still standing

At the same time the opposers of the coup in Sudan called for new protests today, on Sunday to demand “the return of the civilian authority”, despite the wave of aggression, which according to the doctors resulted in the death of fourteen deaths at least since 25 October.

The activists on the social media on Saturday called for “protest of million people” for Sunday and called it “a million of 21 November”.

While the Forces of Freedom and Change in Sunday said that the protest scheduled for Sunday is still standing, adding that “we are not interested in any agreement about the return of ‘Abd Allah Ḥamdūk to the premiership”.

It should be mentioned that at the end the last one month the leaders of the army dissolved Sovereignty Council and the government, and imposed state of emergency in the country following deep divisions between the military and the civilian components how to manage the transitional period.

This came at the same time with an arrest campaign involving politicians and leading personalities, including the Prime Minister, who was rapidly released again, but remained under house arrest for some time.

Following all this massive protests broke out in the country and renewed for weeks, as international and regional powers criticized the steps of the Sudanese army and demanded stepping back from its recent decisions , while some announced suspending the aids and the efforts to settle the debts.
