The aṣ-Ṣadrī Movement’s faction in Iraq is keen to propose a legislative draft proposal in the parliament penalizing the normalization with “Israel”, prohibiting “the Israeli push for hegemony over Iraq”.
The leader of the aṣ-Ṣadrī Movement in Iraq Muqtadā aṣ-Ṣadr announced on Saturday the will of his faction and its allies to propose draft legislation to “penalize the normalization with Israel” so that it would be voted on in the Iraqi parliament.
Aṣ-Ṣadrī said in a comment on Twitter: “One of the most important reasons for which I was called upon to shake up the aṣ-Ṣadrī Movement in the election campaign once again was the matter of normalization and the Israeli push for hegemony over our beloved Iraq”.

He added: “Therefore the aṣ-Ṣadrī faction and its allies will soon announce national aura a legislative proposal to completely penalize the normalization and dealing with the Zionist Entity, and then they will propose under the roof of the parliament to be voted upon”. Though without sharing any date for that.
He continued: “There are other service legislative proposals as well will propose eventually”.
According to section 201 of the Iraqi Penal Code, all those are punished with execution “who entice or popularize the Zionist principles, thus including freemasonry, or to enlisting to any of its organizations, or to help them financially or morally, or to act in any fashion for the realization of its aims”.
It should be pointed out that Iraq has no relations with “Israel”, while the government and most of the political forces refuse the normalization with it.
On 26 September 2021, the Supreme Court’s Media Office in Iraq announced that the primary investigative court in al-Karh issued a notice based on the information presented by the National Security Advisor to arrest the so-called Wisām al-Ḥardān following the role he played in the agitation for the normalization with “Israel” in a conference in Irbīl, which caused a series of condemnations by the Iraqi forces.

كتلة التيار الصدري في العراق تعتزم طرح مشروع قانون برلماني يجرّم التطبيع مع “إسرائيل”، منعاً “للمطامع الإسرائيلية في الهيمنة على العراق
أعلن زعيم التيار الصدري في العراق، مقتدى الصدر، اليوم السبت، عزم كتلته وحلفائها طَرْحَ مقترح مشروع لـ”تجريم التطبيع مع إسرائيل”، من أجل التصويت عليه في البرلمان العراقي.
وقال الصدر في تغريدة في “تويتر”: “إنّ من أهم الأسباب التي دعتني إلى زجّ التيار الصدري في العملية الانتخابية مجدَّداً، مسألة التطبيع والمطامع الإسرائيلية في الهيمنة على عراقنا الحبيب
وأضاف: “من هنا، ستعلن الكتلة الصدرية، مع حلفائها في الفضاء الوطني قريباً، مقترحَ مشروع لتجريم التطبيع والتعامل مع الكيان الصهيوني مطلقاً، ثم طرحه تحت قبّة البرلمان للتصويت عليه”، من دون أن يحدد موعداً لذلك.
وتابع أن “هناك مقترحات لمشاريع خدمية سنطرحها تباعاً”.
ووفقاً للمادة الـ201 من قانون العقوبات العراقي، يُعاقَب بالإعدام “كل من حبّذ أو روّج مبادئ الصهيونية، بما في ذلك الماسونية، أو انتسب إلى أيٍّ من مؤسساتها، أو ساعدها مادياً أو أدبياً، أو عمل بأي كيفية كانت لتحقيق أغراضها”.
يشار إلى أنّ العراق لا يقيم أي علاقات بـ”إسرائيل”، بينما ترفض الحكومة وأغلبية القوى السياسية التطبيع معها.
وفي الـ26 من أيلول/سبتمبر 2021، أعلن المركز الإعلامي لمجلس القضاء الأعلى في العراق أنّ محكمة تحقيق الكرخ الأولى، بناءً على معلومات مقدَّمة من مستشارية الأمن القومي، أصدرت مذكرة قبض بحق المدعو وسام الحردان، في إثر الدور الذي قام به في الدعوة إلى التطبيع مع “إسرائيل” في مؤتمر في أربيل، أثار سلسلة تنديدات من القوى العراقية
