The Yemeni Armed Forces complete their control over the Strait of Bāb al-Mandib and the Island of Mayūn and reach the district of Dū Bāb.

On Friday the correspondent of al-Mayadeen reported the Yemeni Armed Forces reaching the district of Dū Bāb situated at the western coastline, overlooking the Strait of Bāb al-Mandib, while at the same time life has returned normal in the city of al-Mahā and the governmental offices started their normal operations.
The AFP news agency quoted an official of the (Saudi backed) Yemeni government confirming that “the al-Ḥūtīs have completed their control over the Strait of Bāb al-Mandib, and took control over the strategic island of Mayūn”.
The news agency also quoted military sources within the (Saudi backed) Yemeni government that “al-Ḥūtīs are sieging the governmental forces on the islands of Greater Ḥanīš and Lesser Ḥanīš”.
The sources stated: “We don’t know the fate of our forces, while the size of our troops is more than 2000 people on the islands… As far we know they were requested to surrender”.
Two other sources within the (Saudi backed) Yemeni government confirmed to Reuters that the forces of the government in Aden has withdrawn from the Island of Perim (Mayūn) that is situated in the Strait of Bāb al-Mandib.
Earlier the news agency has quoted a military official of the Aden government and eyewitness saying that the Yemeni Armed Forces have taken control over the Yemeni city of al-Mahā along the Red Sea, pointing out that they are progressing towards the areas along the strategic Strait of Bāb al-Mandib.
The Yemeni Armed Forces took control over al-Hawha and Ḥīs in the southern part of the coastal al-Ḥudayda Province along the Red Sea and al-Wāzi‘iyya in Ta‘izz.
“Strategic catastrophe for Washington and Riyadh”
As for the international and regional assessments of these developments, the British Guardian described the Yemenis taking control over the Red Sea coast as “strategic catastrophe” for the United States and Saudi Arabia.
On its behalf the Israeli media is following the developments in Yemen, as the Israeli Channel 14 confirmed that “the al-Ḥūtī control over the city of al-Mahā means a strategic event that might have widespread consequences”.
This come at a time when the Yemeni Armed Forces wage classes with the Saudi backed forces in a number of provinces, following their preventive strikes against the the mobilizations on the front. On the other hand Saudi Arabia carried out airstrikes targeting a number of provinces, including Ma‘rib, al-Ğawf, Ta‘izz and al-Ḥudayda.
In this context the correspondent of al-Mayadeen reported that Saudi Arabia launched airstrikes against the airport of al-Mahā, in the coastal city of al-Mahā in the western part of Ta‘izz Province in the southwest of the country, after the Armed Forces took control over it.
The correspondent pointed out that al-Mahā was the main concentration point for the Saudi backed forces.
In addition, it is expected that the Yemeni Armed Forces will soon issue a statement about a broad and special military operation.

أفاد مراسل الميادين، اليوم الجمعة، بوصول القوات المسلحة اليمنية إلى مديرية ذوباب الواقعة عند الساحل الغربي، المطلة على مضيق باب المندب، بالتزامن مع عودة الحياة إلى طبيعتها في مدينة المخا وبدء المؤسسات الحكومية عملها كالمعتاد
ونقلت وكالة “أ ف ب” عن مسؤول في الحكومة اليمنية (المدعومة سعودياً) تأكيده “استكمال الحوثيين سيطرتهم على مضيق باب المندب، والسيطرة على جزيرة ميون الاستراتيجية”.
كما نقلت الوكالة عن مصادر عسكرية في الحكومة اليمنية (المدعومة سعودياً) أنّ “الحوثيين يحاصرون القوات الحكومية في جزيرتي حنيش الكبرى وحنيش الصغرى”.
وقالت المصادر: “لا نعرف مصير قواتنا وقوامها أكثر من ألفي عنصر في الجزر… وبحسب علمنا، طلب منهم الاستسلام”.
كما أكّد مصدران في الحكومة اليمنية (المدعومة سعودياً) لوكالة رويترز، أنّ قوات حكومة عدن انسحبت من جزيرة بريم الواقعة في مضيق باب المندب.
وفي وقتٍ سابق، نقلت الوكالة عن مسؤول عسكري في حكومة عدن وشهود قولهم إنّ القوات المسلحة اليمنية سيطرت على مدينة المخا اليمنية على البحر الأحمر، مشيراً إلى أنها تتقدّم نحو مناطق محاذية لمضيق باب المندب الاستراتيجي
كذلك، سيطرت القوات المسلحة اليمنية على الخوخة وحيس جنوبي محافظة الحُدَيْدَة الساحلية على البحر الأحمر، والوازعية في تعز.
“كارثة استراتيجية لواشنطن والرياض
وفي إطار التقييمات الدولية والإقليمية لهذه التطوّرات، وصفت صحيفة “الغارديان” البريطانية استيلاء اليمنيين على ساحل البحر الأحمر بأنه يمثّل “كارثة استراتيجية” بالنسبة للولايات المتحدة والسعودية.
من جهتها، واصلت الوسائل الإعلامية الإسرائيلية متابعة التطوّرات في اليمن، حيث أكّدت “القناة 14” الإسرائيلية أنّ “سيطرة الحوثيين على مدينة المخا تعدّ حدثاً استراتيجياً قد تترتّب عليه تداعيات واسعة
يأتي ذلك في وقت تخوض القوات المسلحة اليمنية اشتباكات مع القوات المدعومة من السعودية في العديد من المحافظات، عقب شنّها ضربات استباقية ضدّ تحشيداتها الميدانية. وفي المقابل، تنفّذ السعودية غارات جوية تستهدف عدداً من المحافظات، بينها مأرب والجوف وتعز والحديدة.
وفي الإطار، أفاد مراسل الميادين بشنّ السعودية غارات جوية على مطار المخا في مدينة المخا الساحلية غربي محافظة تعز جنوبي غربي البلاد، بعد إحكام القوات المسلحة السيطرة عليها.
وأشار مراسلنا إلى أنّ المخا كانت تشكّل نقطة ارتكاز رئيسية للقوات المدعومة سعودياً.
