The Iranian Ministry of Defense confirms the martyrdom of the director of the Research and Development Organization after the failure of rescue attempts following an assassination operation he faced. But who is Fahrīzāde?
Dr. Moḥsen Fahrīzāde Mahābādī born in 1957 is a top scientist and director of the Research and Development Organization in the Iranian Ministry of Defense. This organization is tasked with the development of weapons in the Iranian Ministry of Defense. He is an officer of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps and a professor of physics in the University of Imām Ḥosseyn in Tehran.
The name of Moḥsen Fahrīzāde is mentioned amongst the 5 Iranians on the list of 500 strongest personalities around the world, according to the American Foreign Policy magazine.
Considering him “the top scientist in the Ministry of Defense, a supporter of the Iranian armed forces and former director of the Research Center for Physics (PHRC) on 24 March 2007 he got listed on the international U.N. sanctions list against Iran.
The scientist martyr Moḥsen Fahrīzāde is the only Iranian scientist who was directly mentioned by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during the “slide show” in 2018, claiming that he “was working on the nuclear weapons program”.
In March 2008 the British Sunday Times revealed that a high-ranking officer in the Iranian Revolutionary Guards called him “the father of the Iranian nuclear program” according to the words of the magazine.
The newspaper said that Moḥsen Fahrīzāde Mahābādī works as “a professor of physics in the University of Imām Ḥosseyn in Tehran“ and is considered to be “the Iranian version of the Pakistani nuclear scientist ‘Abd al-Qādir Hān”.
The newspaper added that the International Atomic Energy Agency called Fahrīzāde (63 years old) as the man wanted to interviewed “about the Iranian nuclear program” after Tehran refused repeated requests for that. Thus pointing out that “a document from an Iranian computer including intelligence reports presented to the Agency named Fahrīzāhe as the man responsible for the Iranian nuclear program”.

الدكتور محسن فخري زادة مهابادي مواليد عام 1957، هو من علماء الصف الأول، ورئيس منظمة البحث والتطوير في وزارة الدفاع الإيرانية، وهي منظمة معنية بتطوير الأسلحة في وزارة الدفاع الإيرانية، وهو ضابط إيراني في حرس الثورة الإيراني وأستاذ الفيزياء بجامعة “الإمام الحسين” في طهران
ويذكر اسم محسن فخري زاده كواحد من 5 شخصيات إيرانية ضمن قائمة أقوى 500 شخصية في العالم وفق مجلة “فورين بوليسي” الأميركية
وتمّ تصنيف فخري زاده باعتباره “عالماً أول في وزارة الدفاع ودعم القوات المسلحة الإيرانية والمدير السابق لمركز أبحاث الفيزياء (PHRC)” في 24 آذار/مارس 2007، على “قائمة عقوبات مجلس الأمن الدولي ضد إيران

وفي آذار/مارس عام 2008، كشفت صحيفة “صندي تايمز” البريطانية، أن ضابطاً رفيع المستوى في حرس الثورة الإيراني، برز على أنه “أبو البرنامج النووي الإيراني”، على حد قول الصحيفة.
وقالت الصحيفة إن محسن فخري زاده مهابادي، الذي يعمل “أستاذاً لمادة الفيزياء في جامعة الإمام الحسين في طهران”، يُنظر إليه على أنه “النسخة الإيرانية للعالم النووي الباكستاني عبد القدير خان
وأضافت الصحيفة أن الوكالة الدولية للطاقة الذرية سمّت فخري زادة (63 عاماً) على أنه الرجل الذي تسعى إلى مقابلته “بشأن برنامج إيران النووي”، بعد رفض طهران مطالب متكررة بهذا الشأن، مشيرة إلى أن “وثيقة من جهاز حاسوب إيراني كانت ضمن تقارير استخبارية عُرضت على ممثلي الوكالة سمّت فخري زاده بأنه الرجل المسؤول عن البرنامج النووي الإيراني
