The Intelligence Directorate at the Lebanese army announces the arrest of ‘Umar Ġuṣn and his son for being behind the opening fire at mourners at Halda yesterday and also the arrest earlier today of one of those implicated.
The Intelligence Directorate at the Lebanese army announced today, on Monday that it arrested ‘Umar Ġuṣn and his son for being behind the firing at the mourners at Halda yesterday.
Earlier today the Lebanese army also arrested one of those implicated in the firing, pointing out that “a patrol by the Intelligence Directorate at the army raided a number of houses of those wanted in the area of Halda and arrested the suspect (A. Š)”.
The tweet of the army pointed out that “the interrogation is conducted under the supervision of the judge involved”, and added that “the arrest of the rest of the suspects is ongoing”.
A video was shared in the social media for ‘Umar Ġuṣn, before he gave himself up to the Lebanese army intelligence.
The Lebanese army has deployed on Monday at the area of Halda south of Beirut after a morning group of mourners of citizen ‘Alī Šablī suffered firing upon them. The matter led to clashes and resulted in the fall of victims. According to the announcement of the army a number of citizens and a soldier got wounded.
Member of the Lebanese parliament for the “Loyalty for the Resistance” faction Ḥasan Faḍl Allah said in a statement for the al-Mayadeen on Sunday said: “whoever did the raid and the described crime at Halda south of Beirut are armed groups rebelling against the state and the law. Those killers don’t belong to tribes and act on a criminal way”.
Faḍl Allah added that “the primary demand is to impose the law upon the killers, who did their crime in result of their belief that they are above accountability”. Thus he confirmed that “if this demand is not fulfilled than we will do what is necessary”.
In the same context journalist of the Lebanese “al-Ahbār” newspaper Riḍwān Murtaḍā said to al-Mayadeen today, on Monday that “the Ḥizb Allah presented the security forces the list of the names of the killers and gave them a deadline to hand over those implicated”.
Murtaḍā confirmed that “those who plotted the raid failed to provoke the Ḥizb Allah to a battle they sought to happen, or an infighting”. Thus he confirmed that “there are informations about American-Saudi involvement standing behind this raid, so to lead the Ḥizb Allah into war”.

مديرية المخابرات في الجيش اللبناني تعلن توقيف عمر غصن ونجله، على خلفية إطلاق النار على المشيّعين في خلدة أمس، وتوقيف أحد المتورّطين أيضاً في وقت سابق اليوم.
أعلنت مديرية المخابرات في الجيش اللبناني، اليوم الإثنين، توقيفها عمر غصن ونجله على خلفية إطلاق النار على المشيّعين في خلدة أمس.
وفي وقت سابق اليوم، أعلن الجيش اللبناني توقيف أحد المتورّطين في إطلاق النار أيضاً، مشيراً إلى أن “دورية من مديرية المخابرات في الجيش داهمت بيوت عددٍ من المطلوبين في منطقة خلدة، وأوقفت المدعو (أ.ش)”.
وأشارت تغريدة الجيش إلى أنَّ “التحقيق بوشر بإشراف القضاء المختص”، وأضافت أنَّ “المتابعة جارية لتوقيف سائر المتورطين”.
وانتشر فيديو في مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي لعمر غصن، قبل تسليم نفسه إلى مخابرات الجيش اللبناني
وكان الجيش اللبناني انتشر أمس الأحد في منطقة خلدة جنوبي بيروت بعد تعرّض موكب تشييع المواطن علي شبلي لإطلاق نار، الأمر الذي أدّى إلى اشتباكات، أسفرت عن سقوط ضحايا، وجرح عدد من المواطنين وأحد العسكريين، وفق بيان الجيش.
وقال النائب في البرلمان اللبناني، عن كتلة “الوفاء للمقاومة”، حسن فضل الله، في تصريح للميادين أمس الأحد، إن “من قام بالكمين والجريمة الموصوفة في خلدة جنوبي بيروت عصاباتٌ مسلحة متمرّدة على الدولة والقانون، وهؤلاء القتلة لا ينتمون إلى العشائر، وتصرّفوا بطريقة إجرامية”.
وأضاف فضل الله أن “المطلب الأول هو أن يتم تطبيق القانون على القتلة الذين قاموا بجريمتهم نتيجة اعتقادهم أنهم فوق المحاسبة”، مؤكداً أنه “إذا لم يُلَبَّ هذا المطلب فسنبني على الشيء مقتضاه”.
في السياق نفسه، قال الصحافي في جريدة “الأخبار” اللبنانية، رضوان مرتضى، للميادين اليوم الإثنين إن “حزب الله أعطى القوى الأمنية قائمة بأسماء القتلة، وأعطاها مهلة لتسليم المتورطين”.
وأكد مرتضى أن “المخطِّطين للكمين فشلوا في جرّ حزب الله إلى معركة سعوا لوقوعها وللفتنة”، مؤكداً أن “هناك معلومات عن ارتباط أميركي ـ سعودي بالوقوف وراء هذا الكمين، لاستدراج حزب الله إلى حرب”.
