The Emir of Qatar to the Tunisian President: The parties have to converge to the path of dialogue to overcome the political crisis and secure the pillars of the state of institutions.
Emir of Qatar aš-Šayh Tamīm ibn Ḥamad Āl Tānī on Wednesday held s telephone conversation with the Tunisian President Qays Sa‘īd and stressed that the rule of law has to be upheld in the country, which faces political crisis.
The official Qatari “QNA” agency mentioned in a statement that “during the phone call the latest developments of the situation in Tunisia was overviewed”, as Āl Tānī pointed out that “it is imperative to overcome the current political crisis and the it is important that the Tunisian sides converge on the path of dialogue to overcome it and to secure the pillars of the state of institutions and respect the rule of law in the brotherly Republic of Tunisia for the benefit of the brotherly Tunisian people, but also to preserve its stability.
According to the statement on his own behalf the Tunisian President expressed his “thanks and gratitude” to the Emir of Qatar for standing with his country “supporting for the expectations of the Tunisian people and his constant stance beside Tunisia”.
At the same time the Tunisian Foreign Ministry said yesterday, on Tuesday that Foreign Minister ‘Utmān al-Ğarandī held a phone call with his colleagues in Turkey, France, Italy, Germany the EU and the Human Rights High Commission.
The Tunisian Foreign Ministry confirmed that the phone call of al-Ğarandī came as a reassurance after the President froze the Parliament and deposed the Prime Minister, as Tunisia moves ahead on the path of democracy.
Tunisian President Qays Sa‘īd deposed a number of ministers from their posts, including the Speaker of the Parliament and acting Interior Minster of Hišām al-Mašīšī in the framework of a series of measures taken.
It should be remembered that in addition to the economic and health crisis Tunisian lives in there was a political struggle lasting for some 6 months between President Qays Sa‘īd, who views that the choices of the government have failed and are under the pressure of “lobbies”, and Prime Minister Hišām al-Mašīšī and the an-Nahḍa Movement supporting him. That led to the paralysis of the governmental work and chaos at the public authorities.

أمير قطر للرئيس التونسي يجب على الأطراف انتهاج طريق الحوار لتجاوز الأزمة السياسية وتثبيت دعائم دولة المؤسسات.
أجرى أمير قطر، الشيخ تميم بن حمد آل ثاني، اليوم الأربعاء اتصالاً هاتفياً مع الرئيس التونسي، قيس سعيد، حيث شدد على ضرورة تكريس حكم القانون في البلاد التي تشهد أزمة سياسية.
وذكرت وكالة “قنا” القطرية الرسمية، في بيان، أنه “جرى خلال الاتصال استعراض آخر تطورات الأوضاع في تونس”، حيث أشار آل ثاني إلى “ضرورة تجاوز الأزمة السياسية الراهنة وأهمية أن تنتهج الأطراف التونسية طريق الحوار لتجاوزها وتثبيت دعائم دولة المؤسسات وتكريس حكم القانون في الجمهورية التونسية الشقيقة من أجل مصلحة الشعب التونسي الشقيق والحفاظ على استقرارها”.
من جانبه، أعرب الرئيس التونسي، حسب البيان، عن “شكره وتقديره” لأمير قطر على موقف بلاده “الداعم لتطلعات الشعب التونسي ووقوفها الدائم إلى جانب تونس”.
هذا وكانت وزارة الخارجية التونسية، قالت أمس الثلاثاء، إن وزير الخارجية عثمان الجرندي، اتصل هاتفياً بنظرائه في تركيا وفرنسا وإيطاليا وألمانيا والاتحاد الأوروبي والمفوضية السامية لحقوق الإنسان.
وأكدت الخارجية التونسية، أن اتصال الجرندي، جاء لطمأنتهم بعد أن جمّد الرئيس البرلمان وأقال الحكومة، بأن تونس تعتزم المضي قدماً في المسار الديمقراطي.
وكان الرئيس التونسي قيس سعيّد قد أعفى عدداً من الوزارء من مهماتهم، بينهم رئيس الحكومة والمكلَّف إدارة وزارة الداخلية هشام المشيشي، في إطار سلسلة إجراءات اتَّخذها.
يذكر أنه، بالإضافة إلى الأزمة الاقتصادية والصحية التي تعيشها تونس، أدى الصراع السياسي المستمر منذ نحو 6 أشهر بين الرئيس قيس سعيد الذي يرى أن خيارات الحكومة فاشلة وأنها خاضعة لضغط “اللوبيات”، مع رئيس الحكومة هشام المشيشي وحركة “النهضة” الداعمة له، إلى شلل في عمل الحكومة وفوضى في السلطات العامة.
