Deputy Envoy of Syria to the United Nations al-Ḥakam Dandī mentions that Syria has condemned repeatedly the use of chemical weapons at any place and time by any side and within any circumstances.
On Tuesday Syria condemned the over politicization of the chemical matter by the international organizations and the ignorance about the total cooperation Damascus has shown with the international investigators.
Deputy Envoy of Syria to the United Nations al-Ḥakam Dandī has accused the United States of America of supplying the members of the so-called “Army of the New Syria” with chemical materials in the area of at-Tanaf, so they would carry out a fake attack and put the blame on the Syrian forces.
Dandī has pointed out that Syria considers the report by the fact-finding mission as yet another proof that the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons uses its mandate in an over-politicized manner while it conducts its investigations into the accidents reported to its accusations of chemical weapons usage in Syria.
Dandī confirmed that “the Syrian Army had not used chemical weapons at all, simply because it does not possess such weapons”, adding that “the American deception is not convincing for anyone”.
Responding to the envoys of the member states Dandī said that what was brought forward at today’s session about an incident of the claimed use of chemical weapons in al-Ġūṭa clearly and perfectly reflects the use of the methodical animosity by certain states against Syria, which try to distort the facts this way by spreading mislead and false ideas.
He pointed out that “Syria has repeatedly condemned the use of chemical weapons at any place and time, by any side and under any circumstances”.
Dandī showed that Syria continued to cooperate with the Organization for Prohibition of Chemical Weapons and stood by all its commitments it agreed to within the prohibition agreement, a matter that has been attested by the report of the organization in the same issue.
He explained that the Syrian National Committee has provided its 116th monthly report about the activities that are conducted in its territories and enabled visits for the evaluation teams that were reported to Damascus. It also initiated holding a meeting in Beirut with a team from a technical branch of the organization to find a mechanism to proceed with the cooperation, aside from continuing with the extension of the tripartite agreement between Syria, the Organization for Prohibition, and the Office of the United Nations for servicing the projects to enable the work of the organization and its team in Syria.
Earlier Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Fayṣal al-Miqdād had talked about the policies of certain Western states that led to terrorist organizations like Dā‘iš and the an-Nuṣra Front obtaining chemical weapons and repeatedly using them against Syrians.

نائب مندوب سوريا لدى الأمم المتحدة، الحكم دندي، يذكّر بأنّ سوريا دانت، على نحوٍ مُتكرر، استخدام الأسلحة الكيميائية في أيّ زمانٍ ومكان، ومن جانب أيٍّ كان، وتحت أيّ ظروف
استنكرت سوريا، اليوم الثلاثاء، تسيس الملف الكيميائي من جانب منظمات دولية، وتجاهل التعاون التام الذي أبدته دمشق مع المحققين الدوليين.
واتهم نائب مندوب سوريا لدى الأمم المتحدة، الحكم دندي، الولايات المتحدة الأميركية بتزويد عناصر ما يُعرف بـ”جيش سوريا الجديد” بموادَّ كيميائية في منطقة التنف، من أجل تنفيذ هجوم مزوّر وإلصاق التهمة بالقوّات السورية.
وأشار دندي إلى أنّ سوريا تَعُدّ التقارير الصادرة عن بعثة تقصي الحقائق دليلاً آخر على استخدام مُنظّمة حظر الأسلحة الكيميائية لولايتها بطريقةٍ مُسيسة، في أثناء إجرائها التحقيقات في الحوادث المُبلَّغ بشأنها، فيما يتعلق بادعاءات استخدام أسلحة كيميائية في سوريا.
وأكد دندي أنّ “الجيش السوري لم يستخدم الأسلحة الكيميائية مطلقاً، لأنّه ببساطة لا يمتلك ذلك السلاح”، مضيفاً أنّ “الخدع الأميركية لم تعد تنطلي على أحد”.
ورداً على مندوبي دول أعضاء، قال دندي إنّ ما أُثير في جلسةِ اليوم بشأن حادثة استخدام أسلحة كيميائية مزعومة في الغوطة، يعكس بصورة واضحة وجلية استمرار النهج العدواني لبعض الدول ضد سوريا، والتي تُحاول من خلاله تشويه الحقائق بنشر أفكارها المُضللة والكاذبة.
ولفت إلى أنّ “سوريا دانت، على نحوٍ مُتكرّر، استخدام الأسلحة الكيميائية في أيّ زمانٍ ومكان، ومن جانب أيٍّ كان، وتحت أيّ ظروف”.
وبيّن دندي أنّ سوريا واصلت التعاون مع منظمة حظر الأسلحة الكيميائية، وأوفت بجميع التزاماتها بموجب اتفاقية الحظر، الأمر الذي تؤكده تقارير المنظمة ذات الصلة.
وأوضح أنّ اللجنة الوطنية السورية قدّمت تقريرها الشهري الـ 116 بخصوص الأنشطة التي أجرتها على أراضيها، وسهلت زيارات فريق تقييم الإعلان لدمشق، وبادرت إلى عقد اجتماع في بيروت مع فريق من الأمانة الفنية للمنظمة لإيجاد آليات للمضي قُدُماً في التعاون، إلى جانب متابعة تمديد الاتفاق الثلاثي بين سوريا ومنظمة الحظر ومكتب الأمم المتحدة لخدمات المشاريع من أجل تسهيل عمل المنظمة وفرقها في سوريا.
