The Sudanese Foreign Minister comments on the normalization of his country with “Israel” and says that “what happened today is not a normalization”.
Sudanese Foreign Minister ‘Umar Qamar ad-Dīn said that “what happened today in an agreement about the normalization and not a normalization [itself]”.
Qamar ad-Dīn added today, on Friday that “the confirmation on the normalization will be determined after the completion of the constitutional institutions with the formation of the legislative council”.
The words of the Sudanese Minister came after the announcement by American President Donald Trump today, Friday that “Israel” and Sudan agreed to normalize relations.
Trump expressed that “the agreement between Sudan and “Israel” happened without a drop of blood on the sand.”
Before the official statement about the normalization came the announcement by the Transitional Sovereignty Council in Sudan on its Twitter account today, on Friday that American President Donald Trump signed the decision of lifting Sudan from the “list of countries supporting terrorism”.
The White House today, on Friday pointed out that “Sudan transferred $335 million to the account of the victims of the attacks on the two American embassies in Kenya and Tanzania and to their families”.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on his own side welcomed the normalization of relations with Sudan and described it as a “historical and dramatic breakthrough for peace”, confirming that delegations from both sides will soon study the cooperation in a number of fields”.
Two sources within the Sudanese government confirmed to Reuters yesterday, Thursday that the head of the Transitional government ‘Abd Allah Ḥamdūk is ready for normalization of relations with “Israel” if the Parliament approves it.
The two sources to the Reuters made it clear that Khartoum is concern about the normalization “reflects the fears from taking such a major step as it will corrupt the careful balance between the army and the civilians.”.
It is to be remembered that the Sudanese news agency mentions had announced previously that Sudan issued a decree to remove the official spokesman of the Sudanese Foreign Ministry Ḥaydar Badawī Ṣādiq from his post after statements in which he talked about the existence of “contacts” between his country and “Israel”.
In a press conference the appointed Sudanese Foreign Minister ‘Umar Qamar ad-Dīn had in his statement: “The Foreign Ministry has met ridicule by the statements of Ambassador Ḥaydar Badawī Ṣādiq, the official spokesman of the ministry as if Sudan aims to establish relations with Israel, and those statements caused a situation that has to be clarified”.

وأشار البيت الأبيض اليوم الجمعة إلى أن “السودان حوّل 335 مليون دولار في حساب لضحايا هجمات على سفارتي أميركا في كينيا وتنزانيا وعائلاتهم
رئيس الوزراء الإسرائيلي بنيامين نتنياهو رحّب من جهته بتطبيع العلاقات مع السودان، ووصفه بـ”الاختراق التاريخي الدراماتيكي للسلام”، مؤكّداً أنّ وفوداً من الطرفين ستبحث قريباً التعاون في مجالات عديدة
وأكد مصدران في الحكومة السودانيّة لـ”رويترز” أمس الخميس، أنّ رئيس الحكومة الانتقاليّة عبد الله حمدوك، مستعد لتطبيع العلاقات مع “إسرائيل” إذا وافق البرلمان
المصدران أوضحا لـ”رويترز” أنّ حذر الخرطوم من التطبيع “يعكس مخاوف من أن تؤدي خطوة كبيرة كهذه لإفساد التوازن الدقيق بين الجيش والمدنيين
يذكر أن وكالة السودان للأنباء، أعلنت في وقت سابق، أنَّ السودان أصدر قراراً بإعفاء الناطق باسم وزارة الخارجية حيدر بدوي صادق من منصبه، بعد تصريحات تحدث فيها عن وجود “اتصالات” بين بلاده و”إسرائيل
