After the meetings held in Morocco and Switzerland between the struggling Libyan parties and after the resignation of the head of government belonging to Ḥaftar in Eastern Libya the president of the Libyan al-Wifāq government says that he is about to give his resignation tomorrow in a televised speech, according to what was reported by “Sputnik” agency.
The Russian “Sputnik” news agency cited Libyan sources known to be close to the “al-Wifāq” government, confirming that the president of the al-Wifāq government Fāyiz as-Sarrāğ will give his resignation tomorrow, on Wednesday, pointing out that he will explain his reasons in a televised speech, in which he will announce his resignation.
Sources made it clear that as-Sarrāğ will appoint one of his deputies, allegedly Aḥmad Ma‘ytīq to be in charge until the (13+13) Committee will form the new Presidential Council for an interval period of 18 months.
This comes after the resignation of the Libyan “Interim” government learning towards Ḥaftar yesterday, Monday, which was lead by ‘Abd Allah at–Tānī, after a meeting held by Speaker of the House of Representatives ‘Aqīla Ṣāliḥ loyal to Ḥaftar with the head of the cabinet.
Both sides of the Libyan Dialogue in the final statement of the negotiations last Thursday in the city of Būznīqa close to the Moroccan capital Rabat announced that they reached an agreement about the standard of filling the key positions in Libya.
Both the delegation of the Supreme State Council and the House of Representatives in a joints statement confirmed that at the closure of their meeting within the framework of the Libyan Dialogue reached “a comprehensive agreement about the objective and transparent standards and mechanisms in filling the key positions”.
The statement added that the two sides also agreed about “continuing this dialogue and resumption of the meetings in the last week of this month in order to complete the necessary measures to secure the execution and fulfillment of the agreement”.
The meetings came by implementing paragraph 15 in the Libyan political agreement signed in aṣ-Ṣuhayrāt in Morocco and confirming the resolutions of the Berlin conference, which supports a political solution base on the Security Council resolutions in the same matter.
The city of Montroux in Switzerland also held a conciliatory meeting for two days by the invitation of the Human Dialogue Center under the auspices of the U.N.
The participants in the conciliatory meeting agreed on holding elections within 18 months and to start reviewing the structure of the Libyan Presidential Council and the structure of the National Unity Government.
It should be mentioned that the Libyan Presidential Council today, on Tuesday has denied the information circulated by the “Intelligence Online” website about “an invited meeting” between Field General Halīfa Ḥaftar and as-Sarrāğ in Paris.

نقلت وكالة “سبوتنيك” الروسية عن مصادر ليبية مطلعة محسوبة على حكومة “الوفاق”، تأكيدهم أن رئيس حكومة الوفاق فايز السراج، سيتقدم باستقالته غداً الأربعاء، مشيرة إلى أنه سيشرح أسبابه في بيان متلفز يعلن فيه الاستقالة
وأوضحت المصادر أن السراج سيكلف أحد نوابه، مرجحة أن يكون أحمد معيتيق، لتسيير الأعمال حتى انعقاد لجنة (13 + 13) لتشكيل المجلس الرئاسي الجديد، لمرحلة تمهيدية مدتها 18 شهراً
يأتي ذلك بعد استقالة الحكومة الليبية”المؤقتة” الموالية لحفتر أمس الإثنين برئاسة عبدالله الثني، بعد اجتماع عقده مع رئيس مجلس النواب عقيلة صالح، الموالي لحفتر، مع رئيس مجلس الوزراء في الحكومة
وأعلن طرفا الحوار الليبي في ختام مفاوضاتهما الخميس الماضي بمدينة بوزنيقة قرب العاصمة المغربية الرباط، التوصل إلى اتفاق بشأن معايير تولي المناصب السيادية في ليبيا
وأكد وفدا المجلس الأعلى للدولة ومجلس النواب، في بيان مشترك أنهما توصلا في ختام لقاءاتهما في إطار الحوار الليبي، إلى “اتفاق شامل حول المعايير والآليات الشفافة والموضوعية لتولي المناصب السيادية
وأضاف البيان أن الطرفين اتفقا أيضاً على “استرسال هذا الحوار واستئناف هذه اللقاءات في الأسبوع الأخير من الشهر الجاري من أجل استكمال الإجراءات اللازمة التي تضمن تنفيذ وتفعيل هذا الاتفاق
وجاءت اللقاءات تطبيقاً لنص المادة 15 من الاتفاق السياسي الليبي الموقع بالصخيرات في المغرب، وتأكيداً على مخرجات مؤتمر برلين، التي تدعم الحل السياسي، وبناء على قرارات مجلس الأمن ذات الصلة
واستضافت مونترو بسويسرا على مدار يومين اجتماعاً تشاورياً بين الأطراف الليبية بدعوة من مركز الحوار الانساني وبرعاية الأمم المتحدة
وتوافق المشاركون في الاجتماع التشاوري على إجراء انتخابات خلال 18 شهراً والبدء بإعادة تشكيل المجلس الرئاسي الليبي وتشكيل حكومة وحدة وطنية
