Local sources confirm to al-Mayadeen that 5 consecutive explosions were heard from within the “Harāb al-Ğīr” base in rural al-Ḥasaka in Northeast Syria. This led to a state of huge confusion amongst the coalition soldiers”.
Local sources confirmed to al-Mayadeen that the sound of explosions were heard on Tuesday dawn from within the “Harāb al-Ğīr” base in the Syrian al-Ḥasaka province, which is used by the international coalition as a base for itself north of the al-Ya‘rūbiyya village.
According to the sources “5 explosions were heard going off at exactly 2:30 a.m. on Tuesday dawn, and this matter led to a state of huge confusion amongst the Coalition soldiers within the base”.
The sources revealed about the ongoing heavy crushing by the Coalition helicopters and warplanes since the explosions happened until now, while the troops of the “Qasad” closed the entrance and the exit leading to the border crossing.
The local sources believed that “the explosions have indeed happened, but it is unknown whether it happened in result of explosions within the base by a technical malfunction, or in result of a missiles shelling”.
The sources claimed that “the explosions are came in result of a direct missile targeting against the base, while there are no informations about the level of losses”.
The “Harāb al-Ğīr” base is one amongst the bases usually used by the Coalition as a transit station to gather the vehicles coming into the Syrian territories, or leaving them, while also gathering oil tankers and wheat trucks coming in and leaving via the border, because it is close to the Iraqi-Syrian border.
The Coalition transformed the previous agricultural airport in 2016 into a base and helipad, while later on expanding it to be a landing site for small carrier crafts used to transport soldiers and equipment by air.
It should be pointed out that the American forces set up bases for themselves in several areas in the Syrian al-Ğazīra area, also at the oil and gas fields to steal their production and smuggle them abroad in convoys of missiles and trucks, in cooperation with “Qasad”.

مصادر أهلية تؤكد للميادين أنّ 5 انفجارات متتالية سُمعت داخل قاعدة “خراب الجير” في ريف الحسكة شمالي شرقي سوريا، وأدّت إلى حالة إرباكٍ شديدة بين جنود التحالف
أكّدت مصادر أهلية للميادين أنّ أصوات انفجارات سُمِعت، فجر اليوم الثلاثاء، داخل قاعدة “خراب الجير” في محافظة الحسكة السورية، والتي يتخدها التحالف الدولي مقراً له، شمالي بلدة اليعربية.
ووفق المصادر، “سُمع دويّ 5 انفجارات متاليية في تمام الساعة 02:30 من فجر اليوم الثلاثاء، الأمر الذي أدّى إلى حالة إرباكٍ شديدة بين جنود التحالف الموجودين داخل القاعدة”.
وكشفت المصادر أنّ تحليقاً مُكثَّفاً، للطيران المروحي والطيران الحربي التابعين للتحالف، مستمرٌّ منذ لحظةِ وقوع الانفجار حتى الآن، مع إغلاق عناصر “قسد” كلّ المداخل والمخارج المؤدية إلى المعبر.
بدورها، اعتبرت مصادر ميدانية أنّ “الانفجارات وقعت بالفعل، لكن من غير المعروف أنها ناتجة من انفجارات داخل القاعدة نتيجةَ أخطاء فنية أو ناتجة من استهداف صاروخي”.
ورجّحت المصادر أنّ “الانفجار ناتج من استهداف صاروخي مُباشر للقاعدة، مع عدم وجود أيّ معلومات عن حجم الخسائر”.
وتُعَدّ قاعدة “خراب الجير” إحدى القواعد التي يستخدمها عادةً التحالف محطةً لتجميع الآليات الداخلة للأراضي السورية والخارجة منها، مع تجميع الصهاريج وشاحنات القمح الداخلة والخارجة عبر الحدود، بسبب قُربها من الحدود السورية – العراقية.
وكان التحالف حوّل مطاراً زراعياً سابقاً عام 2016 إلى قاعدةٍ ومهبط للمروحيات مع توسعته لاحقاً لهبوط طائرات شحن صغيرة تُستخدم لنقل الجنود والعتاد جواً.
