Saudi Foreign Minister Fayṣal ibn Farḥān Āl Sa‘ūd says his country does not wish the departure of the American troops for Iraq and believes that the leaving of these troops will press the region as it will be less safe.
Saudi Foreign Minister Fayṣal ibn Farḥān Āl Sa‘ūd confirms that his country does not wish the departure of the American troops for Iraq.
Ibn Farḥān in an interview to the American “CNN” channel said that “by leaving of these troops will press the region, because it will be less safe”, considering that “the Americans presence played an important role in defeating the Dā‘iš terrorist organization, and was the key in the prevention of the organization’s rise up again”.
He continued: “the United States of American once again proved that it is a reliable ally for the Kingdom and that very thing is attached to the Trump administration”. Confirming that “Saudi Arabia copes well with President Trump, the Secretary of the State and the Pentagon and cooperates in the security matters in the region”.
Last Friday the Iraqi capital Baghdad witnessed a mass demonstration renouncing the American presence in Iraq.
It is to be remembered that the Iraqi Parliament affirmed the representative decision for 5 steps, amongst these is to demand the Iraqi government to work of terminating the presence of any foreign troops on Iraqi soil, and enforcing the government to cancel the request for help from the International Coalition to fight “Dā‘iš”.
This comes after the American troops attacked the Commander of the Jerusalem Forces [Sepāh-e Qods] within the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps [Pāsdārān] Major-General Qāsem Soleymānī and with him Deputy-President of the Popular Mobilization Organization [al-Ḥašd aš-Ša‘bī] Abū Mahdī al-Muhandis on 3 January this year, which lead their martyrdom, and that caused a huge wave of anger in Iraq and in the region against the American presence.

وزير الخارجية السعودي فيصل بن فرحان آل سعود، يقول إن بلاده لا تريد مغادرة القوات الأميركية للعراق، ويعتبر أن خروج هذه القوات سيدفع بالمنطقة لأن تصبح أقل أمناً
أكد وزير الخارجية السعودي فيصل بن فرحان آل سعود، أن بلاده لا تريد مغادرة القوات الأميركية للعراق
وقال بن فرحان في مقابلة مع شبكة “CNN” الأميركية، إن “خروج هذه القوات سيدفع بالمنطقة لأن تصبح أقل أمناً”، معتبراً أن “الوجود الأميركي لعب دوراً مهماً في هزيمة تنظيم داعش الإرهابي، وكان مفتاحاً في منع الجماعة الإرهابية من الظهور مجدداً
وتابع: “أثبتت الولايات المتحدة الأميركية مجدداً بأنها حليف موثوق للمملكة وهذا الأمر هو ذاته فيما يتعلق بإدارة ترامب”، مؤكداً أن “السعودية تعمل بصورة جيدة مع الرئيس ترامب ووزارة الخارجية الأميركية والبنتاغون وتنسق في مسائل الأمن بالمنطقة”
وكانت العاصمة العراقية بغداد شهدت، يوم الجمعة الماضي، تظاهرة حاشدة، رفضاً للوجود الأميركي في العراق
ويذكر أن البرلمان العراقي، صادق على قرار نيابي من 5 إجراءات من ضمنها مطالبة الحكومة العراقية بالعمل على إنهاء تواجد أي قوات أجنبية على الأراضي العراقية، وإلزام الحكومة بإلغاء طلب المساعدة من التحالف الدولي لمحاربة “داعش
جاء ذلك، بعد استهداف القوات الأميركية لقائد قوة القدس في حرس الثورة الإيراني الفريق قاسم سليماني، ومعه نائب رئيس هيئة الحشد الشعبي أبو مهدي المهندس في بغداد في 3 كانون الثاني/ يناير الحالي، ما أدى لاستشهادهما، ما أجّج موجة غضب عارمة في العراق والمنطقة على الوجود الأميركي
