On Monday speaker of the Iranian Consultative Council Moḥammad Bāqer Qālībāf denied what American President Donald Trump claimed about having negotiations between Washington and Tehran.
Through the X platform Qālībāf said that no negotiations took place whatsoever with America and that what was propagated by certain media outlets is nothing, but an attempt “to play with the financial and oil markets to run away from the quagmire in which he dropped America and Israel”.
Qālībāf also confirmed that all officials “firmly stand behind the Supreme Leader and the people”, until the aggressors are punished “with a full and remorseful punishment to make them regret it”.
The statements of Qālībāf came amidst the growing tensions on the regional level, as Trump claimed holding “a meeting with Iran” today through the telephone “in view of the difficulty to find a country that would host us”.
At the same time with these developments with huge implications on the financial markets, as the oil price fell after the American statements about postponing [the strikes], Tehran confirmed that it will not step back from its defensive and strategic position confronting the pressure and the threats.

نفى رئيس مجلس الشورى الإيراني، محمد باقر قاليباف، اليوم الاثنين، ما زعمه الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترامب حول إجراء محادثات بين واشنطن وطهران.
وقال قاليباف عبر منصة “إكس” إنه لم يتمّ إجراء أيّ مفاوضات مع أميركا، وأنّ ما تُروّج له بعض وسائل الإعلام عن مفاوضات جرت ما هو إلا محاولة “للتلاعب بالأسواق المالية وأسواق النفط للهروب من المستنقع الذي وقعت فيه أميركا وإسرائيل”.
كذلك، أكد قاليباف، أنّ جميع المسؤولين “يقفون بصلابة خلف القائد والشعب، حتى معاقبة المعتدين “عقاباً كاملاً وباعثاً على الندم
وتأتي تصريحات قاليباف وسط توتر متصاعد في الساحة الإقليمية، إذ رجّح ترامب انعقاد “اجتماع مع إيران” اليوم عبر الهاتف “نظراً لصعوبة العثور على بلد يستضيفنا”.
وتتزامن هذه التطوّرات مع تأثيرات واسعة على الأسواق العالمية، إذ تراجعت أسعار النفط بعد التصريحات الأميركية حول التأجيل، في حين تؤكّد طهران أنها لن تتراجع عن موقفها الدفاعي والاستراتيجي في مواجهة الضغوط والتهديدات
