Sources in the militant-held area said that fighters of the Turkish supported “al-Ḥamzāt” faction detained the leading member of the an-Nuṣra Front, the Saudi “ ‘Abd Allah al-Muḥaysanī” in ‘Ifrīn north of Aleppo.

According to the “Syrian Documentation Center” citing special sources the leading member of the “al-Ḥamzāt” faction, a certain “Abū Aḥmad Kafarsağanī”, who is leading the faction from the village of “al-Bāsūṭa” south of ‘Ifrīn performed a detention operation, in which they also detained four other people, who were in the company of “al-Muḥaysanī”.
The sources added that “al-Muḥaysanī” was in a visit to ‘Ifrīn for some two weeks and was about to return to Idlib when he was detained in the village of “al-Bāsūṭa” at a checkpoint of the “al-Ḥamzāt” faction after he exploited his visit to meet with leading members of the Turkish forces with the aim to form a so-called “ ‘Ifrīn joint operations headquarters”.
The aspirations of “al-Muḥaysanī” came in the framework of the attempts of the “an-Nuṣra Front” to extend its sphere of control towards northern Aleppo by forming a joint operations headquarters joining together the rest of the armed groups, yet still holding on to its military superiority and control over the rest of the groups, just like it happened in Idlib.
It should be pointed out that “al-Muḥaysanī” counts as one of the most prominent members of the foreign Jihadi fighters at the “an-Nuṣra Front”. He is a Saudi citizen and played an important role in calling to join the ranks of the “an-Nuṣra” and to fight on its side. No statement was issued by the “an-Nuṣra” about his detention.

قالت مصادر في مناطق المسلحين إن مسلحي فصيل “الحمزات” المدعوم تركياً، اعتقلوا القيادي في “جبهة النصرة”، السعودي “عبد الله المحيسني” في عفرين شمال حلب
وبحسب “مركز سورية للتوثيق” نقلا عن مصادر خاصة فإن القيادي في فصيل “الحمزات” الملقب بـ ” أبو أحمد كفرسجني” وهو متزعم الفصيل في قرية “الباسوطة” جنوبي “عفرين“، نفذ عملية الاعتقال التي طالت أيضاً /4/ أشخاص آخرين كانوا برفقة “المحيسني
وأضافت المصادر أن “المحسيني” كان في زيارة إلى عفرين استمرت قرابة أسبوعين، وأنه كان في طريقه للعودة إلى إدلب، حين تم اعتقاله في قرية “الباسوطة” عند حاجز “الحمزات”، بعد أن استغل زيارته للاجتماع مع قياديين من القوات التركية، بهدف بحث إمكانية تشكيل ما يسمى “غرفة عمليات عفرين“.
مساعي “المحيسني” جاءت في إطار محاولات “النصرة” توسيع نفوذها للوصول نحو ريف حلب الشمالي، عبر تشكيل غرفة عمليات مشتركة تجمعها مع بقية الفصائل المسلحة لكنها تتيح لها التفوق بالقدرات العسكرية والتحكم ببقية الفصائل على غرار ما تفعله في إدلب
وتجدر الإشارة إلى أن “المحيسني” يعد من أبرز القادة الجهاديين الأجانب لدى “النصرة”، وهو سعودي الجنسية ولعب دوراً هاماً في الدعوة للانضمام إلى صفوف “النصرة” والقتال إلى جانبها، فيما لم يصدر أي تصريح من جانب “النصرة” حول عملية اعتقاله
