The Syrian Ministry of Transport announces the suspension of journeys through Damascus International Airport in step following the Israeli aggression at today dawn against the vicinity of the airport.
The Syrian Ministry of Transport announced on Friday the suspension of all incoming and departing air travel through Damascus International Airport as a result of some technical installations in the airport and around it being out of service.
On its Telegram site, the Ministry explained that the date on which journeys are to be continued through Damascus International Airport will be announced immediately after the installations are repaired, their integrity is checked and the safety of the airport’s operation is confirmed in cooperation with the air service providers.
On his behalf, the correspondent of al-Mayadeen reported that there is information about damage to the communication equipment and the towers by the repeated Israeli aggressions, the last of them coming yesterday against the vicinity of the airport.
Our correspondent citing sources added that the airport is expected to return to service within 48 hours after the integrity of the technical equipment is confirmed and the safety of its operation is checked.
On Friday dawn the air defense of the Syrian army confronted Israeli aggression targeting the southern part of the Syrian capital Damascus.

وزارة النقل السورية تعلن تعليق الرحلات عبر مطار دمشق الدولي، في خطوة أعقبت العدوان الإسرائيلي فجر اليوم على محيط المطار
أعلنت وزارة النقل السورية، اليوم الجمعة، تعليق الرحلات الجوية القادمة والمغادرة عبر مطار دمشق الدولي نتيجة توقف عمل بعض التجهيزات الفنية في المطار وخروجها عن الخدمة.
وأوضحت الوزارة في صفحتها في “تلغرام” أنه سيتم الإعلان عن مواعيد تسيير الرحلات عبر مطار دمشق الدولي فور إصلاح التجهيزات والتأكد من سلامتها وأمان الحركة التشغيلية للمطار، وبالتنسيق مع النواقل الجوية.
بدوره، أفاد مراسل الميادين بوجود معلومات عن تضرر أجهزة اتصال وأبراج من جراء الاعتداءات الإسرائيلية المتكررة، وآخرها أمس، على محيط مطار دمشق.
وأضاف مراسلنا نقلاً عن مصادر أنّ من المتوقع عودة مطار دمشق إلى العمل خلال 48 ساعة، بعد التأكد من سلامة التجهيزات الفنية وأمان الحركة التشغيلية.
