The Jordanian Royal Court announces that King ‘Abd Allah II. received a letter from Prince Ḥamza ibn al-Ḥusayn saying “the apology by the Prince is a step in the right direction to return serving the homeland”.
On Tuesday the Jordanian Royal Court issued a statement announcing in it that King ‘Abd Allah II. received a letter from Prince Ḥamza ibn al-Ḥusayn pointing out that the latter “gave an apology to the Jordanian King and the people and admitted to his mistake in what has become known as the case of internal dispute”.
In his message Prince Ḥamza said: “I made a mistake My Royal Older Brother and praise the one who makes no mistake! Therefore I carry my national responsibility for the stance I took and the gossips against His Highness the Great King and out people during the recent years, and for all that has been done in the events of the matter of internal dispute, and I hope for your grace that has been shown to us by Your Higness”.
Prince Ḥamza issued his apology to the Jordanian king and people saying: “I apologize to your Highness, to the Jordanian people and our family for all these behaviors, which shall not be repeated”.
He vowed to proceed “on the path of our fathers and forefathers being loyal to their legacy, devoted to their their path serving the Jordanian people, respecting the constitution under the leadership of Your wise Higness”.
The statement of the Royal Court held that “Prince Ḥamza sent his letter to the king after meeting his Highness on Sunday evening, based in his request’ and in the presence of Prince Fayṣal ibn al-Ḥusayn, and Prince ‘Alī ibn al-Ḥusayn”.
The statement pointed out that “the apology of the Prince is a step in the right direction to return to serving the homeland as issued by the king”.
It should be remembered that the Jordanian king decided to deal with the matter of Prince Ḥamza in the “internal dispute” case revealed last year on a family basis and appointed Prince al-Ḥusayn ibn Ṭalāl to handle this trajectory. Prince Ḥamza vowed to “be committed to the constitution and the path of the family”, while residing in his palace.
Last year the Jordanian Supreme Court upheld the rulings of the state security court against the former Director of the Jordanian Royal Court Bāsim ‘Awaḍ Allah and aš-Šarīf Ḥasan ibn Zayd sentencing them to 15 years in prison in what has become known as the “internal dispute” case and undermining the security of Jordan.
On 3 April last year the Jordanian authorities arrested Ḥasan ibn Zayd, Bāsim Ibrāhīm ‘Awaḍ Allah and others for security reasons, and issued a list of charges against them, including proofs that they had connections with Prince Ḥamza ibn al-Ḥusayn, ‘Awaḍ Allah and aš-Šarīf Ḥasan.
The indictment explained that aš-Šarīf Ḥasan took the recommendation of Bāsim ‘Awaḍ Allah in front of Prince Ḥamza to help them to receive foreign recognition supporting the stance by the Prince to reach the throne. Thus pointing out that ‘Awaḍ Allah gave a counsel about a series of tweets to be posted later on on the account of the Prince.

الديوان الملكي الأردني يعلن عن تلقي الملك عبدالله الثاني رسالة من الأمير حمزة بن الحسين، ويقول إن “اعتذار الأمير خطوة في الاتجاه الصحيح للعودة إلى خدمة الوطن
أصدر الديوان الملكي الأردني اليوم الثلاثاء، بياناً أعلن فيه تلقي الملك عبد الله الثاني رسالة من الأمير حمزة بن الحسين، مشيراً إلى أن الأخير “قدم اعتذاراً للملك والشعب الأردني وأقر بخطئه فيما عرف بقضية الفتنة”.
وقال الأمير حمزة في رسالته: “أخطأتُ يا جلالة أخي الأكبر، وجل من لا يخطئ. وإنني إذ أتحمل مسؤوليتي الوطنية إزاء ما بدر مني من مواقف وإساءات بحق جلالة الملك المعظم وبلدنا خلال السنوات الماضية وما تبعها من أحداث في قضية الفتنة، لآمل بصفحك الذي اعتدنا عليه من جلالتك”.
وقدم الأمير حمزة اعتذاره من الملك والشعب الأردني، قائلاً: “أعتذر من جلالتك ومن الشعب الأردني ومن أسرتنا عن كل هذه التصرفات التي لن تتكرر”.
وتعهد بأنه سيسير “على عهد الآباء والأجداد، وفياً لإرثهم، مخلصاً لمسيرتهم في خدمة الشعب الأردني، ملتزماًَ بدستورنا، تحت قيادة جلالتك الحكيمة
وجاء في بيان الديوان الملكي أن “الأمير حمزة رفع رسالته إلى الملك بعد لقاء جلالته له مساء يوم الأحد الماضي بناء على طلبه، بحضور الأمير فيصل بن الحسين والأمير علي بن الحسين”.
ولفت البيان إلى أن “اعتذار الأمير خطوة في الاتجاه الصحيح للعودة إلى خدمة الوطن وفق تكليف الملك”.
يذكر أن الملك الأردني قرر التعامل مع موضوع الأمير حمزة في “قضية الفتنة” بعد كشفها العام الماضي في سياق العائلة، وكلف سمو الأمير الحسن بن طلال إدارة هذا المسار، وتعهد الأمير حمزة بـ”الالتزام بالدستور ومسيرة الأسرة”، وظل مقيماً في قصره.
وفي العام الماضي، أيدت محكمة التمييز الأردنية أحكام محكمة أمن الدولة الصادرة بحق رئيس الديوان الملكي الأردني الأسبق باسم عوض الله والشريف حسن بن زيد بالسجن 15 عاماً في ما يعرف بقضية “الفتنة” واستهداف أمن الأردن.
ومساء يوم 3 نيسان/أبريل الماضي، اعتقلت السلطات الأردنية حسن بن زيد وباسم إبراهيم عوض الله وآخرين لأسباب أمنية، وأصدرت لائحة اتهام بحقهم، تضمنت إثباتات على وجود علاقة ارتباط بين الأمير حمزة بن الحسين وكل من عوض الله والشريف حسن.
هذا وأوضحت اللائحة أن الشريف حسن قام بتزكية باسم عوض الله أمام الأمير حمزة لمساعدتهما في الإعداد لتأييد خارجي دعماً لموقف الأمير للوصول إلى سدة الحكم، مشيرة إلى أن عوض الله قدم المشورة حول سلسلة من التغريدات كانت ستنشر على حساب الأمير
