After the completion of the withdrawal of the International Coalition’s fighting forces from Iraq the office of the Iraqi Armed Forces General Command confirms the need for the Coalition’s advisors in 4 fields and outlines their positions and roles.
The office of the Iraqi Armed Forces General Command confirms the need for advisors of the International Coalition in 4 fields, while outlines their positions and roles. It confirmed the need for the airplanes of the Coalition in order to continue hitting the remains of “Dā‘iš”.
The spokesman for the Iraqi Armed Forces General Command, Major General Yaḥyā Rasūl said that “presently there are no forces for the International Coalition in Iraq taking combat duties”: adding that “whoever is left are advisors working on providing advises, support and capabilities in the fields of training, arming and intelligence exchange”.
He continued saying that “the position of these advisors will be in two bases, the ‘Ayn al-Asad and the Ḥarīr under military protection. Their numbers are determined by the Iraqi Army Command in coordination with the International Coalition, and their works is coordinated with the Joint Operations Command”.
Rasūl confirmed that “the Iraqi forces are capable to defend the land and the people of Iraq”, thus underlining that they “thank the Coalition states for what they have done in efforts during the liberation operations and it is imperative to invest in the cooperation in arming and training in order to expand the capabilities of the Iraqi force to complete level”.
He also pointed out that the Iraqi Forces “are in need to strengthening their capabilities and to expand them, especially in the fields of air forces, air defense, army planes and intelligence systems”.
Rasūl pointed out that “Iraq is also in need of the planes of the International Coalition in order to carry out strikes against the targets of the remains of the Dā‘iš terrorist band in certain areas, especially along the border with Syria”. Thus adding that “we hit a huge score in securing the border”.
It should be remembered that the Iraqi Prime Minister Muṣṭafā al-Kāẓimī officially announced on Tuesday “the fulfillment of the withdrawal of the International Coalition’s armed forces from the whole country”, pointing out that “the role of the Coalition has become restricted to consultation and support in accordance with the results of the strategic dialogue”.
The Iraqi Joint Operations Command has announced on Wednesday that all foreign forces with combat duties have left the country.
The Iraqi authorities announced on 9 December the end of the combat duties to the International Coalition forces in the country.

بعد استكمال خروج القوات القتالية للتحالف الدولي من العراق، مكتب القائد العام للقوات المسلحة العراقية يؤكد الحاجة إلى مستشاري التحالف في 4 مجالات، ويحدّد أماكن وجودهم.
أكد مكتب القائد العام للقوات المسلحة العراقية الحاجةَ إلى مستشاري التحالف الدولي في 4 مجالات. وبينما حدد أماكن وجودهم، أكد الحاجة إلى طيران التحالف من أجل الاستمرار في ضرب بقايا “داعش”.
وقال الناطق باسم مكتب القائد العام للقوات المسلحة، اللواء يحيى رسول، إنه “لا توجد حالياً في العراق أي قوات للتحالف الدولي تقوم بمهمات قتالية”، مضيفاً أنّ “من تبقّى مستشارون يعملون في تقديم الاستشارة والدعم والتمكين، في مجالات التدريب والتسليح وتبادل المعلومات الاستخبارية”.
وتابع أنّ “أماكن وجود هؤلاء المستشارين ستكون في قاعدتي عين الأسد وحرير، وبحماية عسكرية. وتحديد أعدادهم مَنوط بالقيادة العسكرية العراقية، بالتنسيق مع التحالف الدولي، وعملهم يتم بالتنسيق مع قيادة العمليات المشتركة”.
وأكد رسول أنّ “القوات العراقية قادرة على الدفاع عن أرض العراق وشعبه”، لافتاً إلى أنها “تشكر دول التحالف على ما قامت به من جهد خلال عمليات تحرير، ومن الضروري استثمار التعاون في التسليح والتدريب من أجل إكمال قدرات القوات العراقية بصورة تامّة”.
ولفت إلى أنّ القوات العراقية “في حاجة إلى تعزيز قدراتها واستكمالها، وخصوصاً في مجالات القوة الجوية والدفاع الجوي وطيران الجيش والمنظومة الاستخبارية”.
وأشار رسول إلى أنّ “العراق في حاجة أيضاً إلى طيران التحالف الدولي من أجل تنفيذ ضربات ضد أهداف بقايا عصابات داعش الإرهابية في بعض المناطق، وخصوصاً الحدود مع سوريا”، مضيفاً “أننا قطعنا شوطاً كبيراً في مجال تحصين الحدود”.
يُذكَر أنّ رئيس الوزراء العراقي مصطفى الكاظمي، أعلن، الثلاثاء الماضي، رسمياً، “استكمال خروج القوات القتالية للتحالف الدولي كافة من البلاد”، مشيراً إلى أن “دور التحالف أصبح يقتصر على المشورة والدعم، بحسب مخرجات الحوار الاستراتيجي”.
وكانت قيادة العمليات المشتركة العراقية أعلنت، الأربعاء الماضي، أنّ جميع القوات الأجنبية ذات المهمات القتالية غادرت البلاد.
