A report by the American Foreign Policy magazine reported that some Arab countries are working on the return of Damascus to the Arab League once again.

In the report “Anšāl Fuharā” said: “The Arab friends of Syria after they got reassured by Baššār al-Asad’s victory on the presidential elections try to put up pressure to ease the American sanctions imposed on it”.
She pointed out that Syria’s return to its position in the Arab League has become a matter of time now after its membership was suspended with the war breaking out against Syria in 2011.
Lebanon, Sudan, Algeria, and Iraq are the supporting countries for that. They have requested the cancellation of the membership suspension, but the former enemies of Damascus working on the support for the “opposition” act as allies for the desires of non-Arab countries, like Turkey.
She added: “Egypt and the Emirates have sorted out their relations with Syria. The Emirates have reopened its embassy in Damascus last year”.
With the recession of the United States in the region and with the Russian support for Damascus the Emirates saw in it a possible ally against Turkey and the Muslim Brotherhood.

افاد تقرير لمجلة فورين بوليسي الامريكية، إن دولا عربية تعمل على إعادة دمشق إلى الجامعة العربية مرة اخرى
وقالت “أنشال فوهرا” في التقرير: حاول أصدقاء سوريا من العرب، وبعد أن أكدت فوز بشار الأسد بالانتخابات الرئاسية بالضغط لتخفيف العقوبات الأمريكية المفروضة عليها
ولفتت إلى أن عودة سوريا إلى مقعدها في الجامعة العربية باتت مسألة وقت، بعد تعليق عضويتها مع اندلاع الحرب على سوريا في 2011
وتعتبر لبنان والسودان والجزائر والعراق من الدول الداعمة له، وطالما طالبت بإلغاء تعليق العضوية.. لكن خصوم دمشق السابقين والذين عملوا على دعم “المعارضين” له يعاملونه كحليف لمواجهة طموحات الدول غير العربية، اي تركيا
وأضافت: قوت مصر والإمارات علاقاتها مع سوريا، وأعادت الإمارات فتح أبواب سفارتها في دمشق العام الماضي
ومع تراجع الولايات المتحدة من المنطقة ودعم روسيا لدمشق، رأت الإمارات فيه حليفا محتملا ضد تركيا والإخوان المسلمين
