On Sunday the Iranian Civil Aviation Organization announces cancelling the air travel from Tehran to Beirut airport until 18 February by the request of the Lebanese government.
According to what the IRNA news agency reported, President of the Iranian Civil Aviation Organization Ḥosseyn Pūrfarzāne said that “all journeys to Lebanon was cancelled until 18 February at least in light of the security matter that currently that persists in the Beirut airport”.
The official of the Ministry of Roads confirmed that the Iranian Civil Aviation Organization will follow upon this matter every day adding: “we will definitely solve this problem”.
In this context Lebanese Foreign Minister Joe Rağğī confirmed “the ministry is in intense communications with the Ministry of Public Works, the civil planes, the Middle East Airlines and the Lebanese embassy in Tehran with the aim to secure the return of the Lebanese citizens to Beirut the soonest possible”.
Talking to the Lebanese media he revealed that “the negotiations are currently ongoing between the Lebanese Foreign Ministry and the Iranian Foreign Ministry via the Lebanese ambassador in Tehran to reach the required result”.
He also explained that “the Foreign Ministry heavily follows that matter of Iran refusing the landing of two Lebanese planes on its soil and aims to find a way out from the political dispute, while Middle East Airlines company follow upon the technical matter”. Thus pointing out that “an official statement will soon be issued by the Foreign Ministry”.
Earlier on Sunday Ḥizb Allah had called upon the Lebanese government to take full responsibility for the protection of the peaceful protesters and their fight to express their stance and demands, and demanded that it should revoke its decision to prevent the Iranian planes from landing in Beirut airport and it should take serious measures to prevent the Israeli Occupation from imposing its dictations and attacking the national sovereignty.
Iranian ambassador to Lebanon Moğtabā Amānī had confirmed working on restoring the journeys of the Iranian and Lebanese airlines between the two countries as they had been in the past, hoping that there would be a solution soon to this problem “by a wise decision from the Lebanese government”.
Talking to the Iranian Tasnim news agency Amānī about the crisis of the Iranian plane that was supposed to come to Beirut underlined that Tehran welcomes the operation of journeys by the Lebanese airlines “but no in the expense of canceling the journeys” of the Iranian airlines.

أعلنت منظمة الطيران المدني الإيراني، اليوم الأحد، إلغاء الرحلات الجوية من طهران إلى مطار بيروت، حتى 18 من. شهر شباط/فبراير الحالي، وذلك بطلب من الحكومة اللبنانية.
وقال رئيس منظمة الطيران المدني الإيراني، حسين بور فرزانه، إنّه “جرى إلغاء جميع الرحلات إلى لبنان، حتى الـ18 من الشهر الجاري كحد أدنى، في ضوء القضايا الأمنية التي تسود مطار بيروت حالياً”، بحسب ما نقلت وكالة “إرنا”.
وأكّد المسؤول في وزارة الطرق، أن منظمة الطيران المدني الإيرانية ستتابع هذا الأمر يومياً، مردفاً: “سنقوم بحل هذه. المشكلة قطعاً”.
وفي السياق، أكّد وزير الخارجية اللبناني، جو رجي، “قيام الوزارة باتصالات حثيثة مع وزارة الأشغال والطيران. المدني وشركة الميدل إيست وسفارة لبنان في طهران، بهدف تأمين عودة المواطنين اللبنانيين إلى بيروت في أسرع وقت ممكن”.
وكشف في حديث لوسائل إعلام لبنانية، أنّ “التفاوض يجري حالياً بين الخارجية اللبنانية والخارجية الإيرانية. عبر سفير لبنان في طهران، للوصول إلى النتيجة المطلوبة”.
كما أوضح أنّ “وزارة الخارجية تتابع من كثب قضية رفض إيران هبوط طائرتين لبنانيّتين على أراضيها، وتسعى. لإيجاد مخرج في الشق السياسي، بينما تتابع شركة الميدل إيست الملف التقني”، مشيراً إلى. أنّه “سيتم إصدار بيان رسمي عن الخارجية قريباً”.
