Egyptian President ‘Abd al-Fattāḥ as-Sīsī has called upon the parliament of the country to hold an emergency meeting in order to gain authorization for “defending Saudi Arabia and to protect it”.
As-Sīsī said: “We must not forget the support our brothers in the Gulf provided to Egypt and we strongly stand [with them] and fully support the protection of the land of our brothers in the Gulf”.
He continued: “Egypt will carry out any measures to protect Saudi Arabia and to defend it”, pointing out that Egypt “will not accept violating Saudi Arabia, its security and stability”.
As-Sīsī expressed that the authorization for “defending the brothers in the Gulf” is linked to “the defense, and not to combat anyone”.
This comes at a time, when Saudi Arabia with air and missile strikes attacks a number of Yemeni provinces, targeting civilian targets and residential buildings.
As a proof of this, the Yemeni Ministry of Health in Sana’a had announced on Friday that the number of victims of the Saudi aggression against Yemen has risen to 419 martyrs and injured since the beginning of the escalation on 3 September.
Upon that the Yemeni Armed Forces has responded to the aggression by targeting the vital infrastructure within the territories of Saudi Arabia and the military mobilizations of Riyadh on Yemeni soil.

وقال السيسي: “يجب ألّا ننسى الدعم الذي قدّمه الأشقاء في الخليج لمصر، ونقف بقوة وندعم بشكل كامل حماية أراضي أشقائنا في الخليج”.
وتابع: “مصر ستنفّذ أيّ إجراء لحماية السعودية والدفاع عنها”، مشيراً إلى أنّ مصر “لن تقبل المساس بالسعودية أو أمنها واستقرارها
واعتبر السيسي أنّ التفويض هو لـ “الدفاع عن الأشقاء في الخليج”، وهو متعلّق بـ “الدفاع، وليس لمحاربة أحد”.
يأتي هذا في حين تهاجم السعودية، بالغارات الجوية والصاروخية، العديد من المحافظات اليمنية، مستهدفةً بذلك الأعيان المدنية والمنازل السكانية.
وتدليلاً على ذلك، أعلنت وزارة الصحة اليمنية في صنعاء، أمس، ارتفاع عدد ضحايا العدوان السعودي على اليمن إلى 419 بين شهيد وجريح، منذ عودة التصعيد في 3 أيلول/سبتمبر الماضي.
وعليه، تردّ القوات المسلحة اليمنية على العدوان مستهدفةً المنشآت الحيوية في الأراضي السعودية، والتحشيدات العسكرية التابعة للرياض على الأراضي اليمنية
