Syrian Foreign Minister Fayṣal al-Miqdād says that the Russian support for Syria on the field of counterterrorism is unlimited and confirms the readiness of his country to “to help any Arabic dialogue with Iran”.
Syrian Foreign Minister Fayṣal al-Miqdād confirmed that there are no disagreements with the Russian side about the priorities on the filed of counterterrorism within Syria, conforming that the Russian support in this matter is unlimited.
Al-Miqdād said in an interview published on Sunday with the Syrian al-Waṭan [Homeland] newspaper: “We don’t disagree at all with our allies in the Russian Federation about the priorities” both sides have to conduct “in counterterrorism and confronting what opposes the UN charter, or complicates the control of states over their on national territories”.
He continued that “the Russian support for Syria in this field is unlimited and we rely on our friends in result of many reasons. First, because they adhere to the UN resolutions, the international efforts and the multipolarity is international politics. Secondly, because they believe in the serious work against terrorism”.
Al-Miqdād confirmed that “this is the right time for Turkey to withdraw from Northwestern Syria”, and to “give space for a solution including natural relations between Syria and Turkey, after this occupation ceased”.
He also called upon the United States of America to “withdraw its forces from Syria without losses”.
Al-Miqdād stressed that Syria supports the Arabic dialogue with Iran, saying: “If Iran wished us to help and conduct any dialogue then Syria it’s ready for that”.
It should be mentioned that al-Miqdād had said in an interview with the “as-Sūriya” and the “al-Ihbāriyya” channels last Thursday that counterterrorism “is ongoing until it is dealt with, either in Idlib, or in the al-Ğazīra [Northeastern Syria – Amaraia] region”.

وزير الخارجية السوري، فيصل المقداد، يقول إنّ الدعم الروسي لسوريا في مجال مكافحة الإرهاب غير محدود”، ويؤكد استعداد بلاده لـ”المساعدة بشأن أي حوار عربي مع إيران”.
أكّد وزير الخارجية السوري، فيصل المقداد، أنه لا توجد خلافات مع الجانب الروسي بشأن الأولويات في مجال مكافحة الإرهاب داخل سوريا، مؤكداً أنّ الدعم الروسي في هذا الصدد غير محدود.
وقال المقداد، في حوار نُشر اليوم الأحد مع صحيفة “الوطن” السورية، “إننا لا نختلف إطلاقاً مع حلفائنا في الاتحاد الروسي بشأن الأولويات” التي يجب أن يضطلع بها كلٌّ من الجانبين “في مواجهة الإرهاب، وفي مواجهة ما يخالف ميثاق الأمم المتحدة، ويعرقل سيطرة الدول على ترابها الوطني”.
وتابع أنّ “الدعم الروسي لسوريا في هذا المجال غير محدود، ونحن نعتمد على أصدقائنا نتيجة عدة أسباب، أولاً لأنهم ملتزمون ميثاقَ الأمم المتحدة، والعملَ الدولي، وتعدديةَ الأقطاب في السياسة الدولية، وثانياً لأنهم يؤمنون بالعمل الجدي ضد الإرهاب”.
وأكد المقداد أنه “آن الأوان لتركيا كي تنسحب من الشمال الغربي لسوريا”، وأن “تتيح المجال لحلّ يضمن علاقات طبيعية بين سوريا وتركيا بعد زوال هذا الاحتلال”.
كما دعا الولايات المتحدة الأميركية إلى “سحب قواتها من سوريا من دون خسائر”.
وشدّد المقداد على أنّ سوريا تؤيد أي حوار عربي مع إيران، قائلاً إنه “إذا رغبت إيران في أن نكون مساعدين وميسّرين لأي حوار، فسوريا جاهزة لذلك”.
يُذكَر أنّ المقداد قال، في مقابلة مع قناتَي “السورية” و”الإخبارية”، الخميس الفائت، إنّ مكافحة الإرهاب “مستمرة حتى القضاء عليه، سواء في إدلب أو في منطقة الجزيرة”.
