Mehrdād Ahlāqī Ketābğī upon his appointment as Minister of Defense of Iran that further strengthening the Front of Resistance will be within his priorities.

During their session held on Sunday members of the Iranian Consultative Council voted on accepting Mehrdād Ahlāqī Ketābğī on the post of Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Support.
Upon taking the position Ahlāqī confirmed to the Parliament that “if the American-Zionist enemy committed another mistake in its calculations, the response will be surprising and large scale. The American government and the allies will carry the regional and global consequences of this”.
The new Iranian Defense Minister pointed out that “the defense products ghat are marked as “secret” and above all that what will be produced within the security plan of the Ministry of Defense will be followed by material marked “highly secret” that will take place within the country’s production network”.
As for his personal record Ahlāqī said: “If you found any shortcoming in my convictional, behavioral, or security records, why was I put forward to the process of candidacy in front of the Islamic Consultative Council”.
He continued: “I am in the enemy’s assassination list for 35 years and strengthening the Front of Resistance more than any time before is one of the central matters of my program”.
Talking about his ministerial program he underlined that for him the researches are even more important than the production, pointing out that. He pointed out that “restructuring the ministry and its institutions with the current conditions and the present threats is within its program, as long as this structure enjoys the approval of the Armed Forces General Command”.
As for combating the American threats, Ahlāqī confirmed that “the necessary precautions to confront the possible use of the GBU-43 bomb, knows as the “Mother of All Bombs” by the United States against Iran were taken and we will continue our work with full confidence”.
He vowed: “The American President hours think how to take his troops out of our region safely. Because if he launched just one bomb than he will have to witness how many soldiers of his forces will he need to take out from the region carried on shoulders”.
He continued saying: “The enemy should know that aiming even one bomb to Iran means the expulsion of his forces from the region horizontally”.
He added: “This matter until now has pushed the United States to refrain from this step, but in case it shifted from threats to implementation the conditions will change”.
According to IRNA Mehrdād Ahlāqī Ketābğī was born in the city of Rašt in 1958 and works has been working on the post of Director of the Iranian Defense Production Sector. He holds a massive professional career, as previously he was the president of the “Šahīd Bakrī” industrial complex. He also held the post of Executive Director of the Space Production Organization.
It should be mentioned that President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mas‘ūd Pezeškiyān had nominated Ahlāqī to the Islamic Consultative Council on 5 October being the governmental candidate for taking over the post of Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Support.

صوّت أعضاء مجلس الشورى الإسلامي الإيراني، خلال جلسته المنعقدة الأحد، بالموافقة على تولي مهرداد أخلاقي كتابجي منصب وزير الدفاع وإسناد القوات المسلحة.
ولدى توليه المنصب، أكّد أخلاقي أمام البرلمان أنّه “إذا ارتكب العدو الأميركي – الصهيوني خطأً في الحسابات مجدداً، فسيكون الرد مفاجئاً وواسع النطاق، وستتحمّل الحكومة الأميركية وحلفاؤها تبعاته الإقليمية والدولية”.
وأشار وزير الدفاع الإيراني الجديد إلى أنّ “المنتجات الدفاعية المصنّفة «سرّية» وما فوق ستُنتَج ضمن الخطوط الآمنة لوزارة الدفاع، فيما سيُتابع إنتاج المواد المصنّفة «سرّية للغاية» وما دون ذلك ضمن الشبكة الصناعية للبلاد”.
أمّا على صعيد سجله الشخصي، فقال أخلاقي: “لو وُجدت أي نقاط ضعف عقائدية أو سلوكية أو أمنية في سجلي، لما جرت عملية ترشيحي أمام مجلس الشورى الإسلامي”.
وتابع: “أنا مدرج على قوائم اغتيال العدو منذ 35 عاماً، وسيكون تعزيز جبهة المقاومة أكثر من أي وقت مضى أحد المحاور الرئيسية لبرنامجي”
وبالحديث عن برنامجه في الوزارة، شدّد على أنّ الأبحاث بالنسبة إليه أهم حتى من الإنتاج، مشيراً إلى أنّ “إصلاح هيكلية وزارة الدفاع ومواءمتها مع الظروف الراهنة والتهديدات الحالية من بين برامجه، على أن تحظى هذه الهيكلية بموافقة هيئة الأركان العامة للقوات المسلحة”.
وفيما يخص مواجهة التهديدات الأميركية، أكّد أخلاقي أن “التدابير اللازمة لمواجهة احتمال استخدام الولايات المتحدة قنبلة “GBU-43″، المعروفة باسم «أم القنابل»، ضد إيران اتُّخذت، ونواصل عملنا بكل اطمئنان”.
وتوعّد قائلاً: “على الرئيس الأميركي أن يفكّر في كيفية إخراج قواته من منطقتنا سالمين. فإذا ألقى قنبلة واحدة، فعليه أن يرى كم جندياً من قواته سيضطر إلى إخراجه من المنطقة محمولاً على الأكتاف”.
وتابع قائلاً: فليعلم العدو أنّ توجيه قنبلة واحدة إلى إيران يعني إخراج قواته أفقياً من المنطقة.
وأضاف: “هذا الأمر دفع الولايات المتحدة حتى الآن إلى الامتناع عن هذه الخطوة، لكن إذا انتقلت من التهديدات إلى التنفيذ، فستختلف الظروف”.
ووفقاً لـ “إرنا” فإنّ “مهرداد أخلاقي كتابجي” من مواليد مدينة رشت عام 1958، يشغل منصب مدير في قطاع الصناعات الدفاعية الإيرانية، ويمتلك مسيرة مهنية حافلة، حيث سبق له رئاسة مجموعة “شهيد بكري” للصناعات، كما تولى منصب الرئيس التنفيذي لمنظمة صناعات الفضاء.
يُذكر أنّ رئيس الجمهورية الإسلامية مسعود بزشكيان كان قد رشّح أخلاقي إلى مجلس الشورى الإسلامي، في 5 تشرين الأول/أكتوبر الجاري، ليكون الخيار الحكومي المقترح لتولي حقيبة وزارة الدفاع وإسناد القوات المسلحة
