The Sudanese Army announces repelling the “Rapid Support Forces” along the borders with Libya and Chad and reveal that the Emirates have prepared few months ago in Eastern Libya to launch attacks to save the “Rapid Support”.

The “Joined Forces of the Armed Struggle Movements” in Sudan announced repelling the attacks of the “Rapid Support Forces” and the groups allied to them at the triple border area between Sudan, Libya and Chad.

In a statement by its official spokesman Aḥmad Ḥussayn Muṣṭafā the forces pointed out the operations resulted in the fighters of the “Rapid Support” fleeing through the borders towards Libya and Chad, explaining that “the attack came as a desperate attempt to break the siege that had been imposed by the government forces on the vanguard of the Rapid Support Forces in the Dārfūr region”. Thus according to what the “Sudan Independent” website reported.

A statement confirmed that “the Sudanese Army have taken control over the triple border region along with the larger Sahara region and Wādī Hūr and thus the supply lines of the Rapid Support Forces have been cut”. This confirmed that “the clashes caused the death of more than 680 fighters of the Rapid Support Forces and their foreign mercenaries and the destruction of 37 military vehicles, in addition to seizing 65 other vehicles”.

The statement also pointed out that “the Emirates few months ago had arranged carrying out a military operation from Eastern Libya for the Rapid Support Forces”.

On his behalf the governor of Dārfūr Region and president of “the Liberation of Sudan” Movement Mannī Arkū Munāwī pointed out that “ ‘Abd ar-Raḥmān Daqalū, Deputy Commander of the Rapid Support took part of the clashes in the Desert front”, confirming that “the aim of his forces was to take control over Northern Dārfūr and to open a corridor connecting it with Libya”.

أعلنت “القوة المشتركة لحركات الكفاح المسلح” في السودان صدّ هجوم لقوات “الدعم السريع” والمجموعات. التابعة لها في منطقة المثلث الحدودي بين السودان وليبيا وتشاد.

وأشارت القوة، في بيان للمتحدث باسمها، أحمد حسين مصطفى، إلى أن العمليات أدت. إلى فرار مقاتلين. من “الدعم السريع” عبر. الحدود باتجاه ليبيا وتشاد، موضحة أن. “الهجوم جاء في محاولة يائسة. لاختراق. الحصار الذي فرضته القوات الحكومية على تقدم الدعم السريع في إقليم دارفور”، بحسب ما أورد موقع “سودان إندبندنت“.

وأكد البيان أن “الجيش السوداني أحكم سيطرته على المثلث الحدودي، إلى جانب منطقة الصحراء الكبرى ووادي هور، ما أدى إلى قطع خطوط الإمداد عن قوات الدعم السريع”، مؤكداً أن “المواجهات أسفرت عن مقتل أكثر من 680 من مقاتلي الدعم السريع والمرتزقة الأجانب، وتدمير 37 آلية عسكرية، إضافة إلى الاستيلاء على 65 آلية أخرى”.

من جهته، أشار حاكم إقليم دارفور رئيس حركة “تحرير السودان”، مني أركو مناوي، إلى أن “عبد الرحيم. دقلو، نائب قائد الدعم السريع، شارك في معارك محور الصحراء”، مؤكداً أن “هدف قواته هو السيطرة على شمال دارفور وفتح ممر يربطها بليبيا
